Derwen House Reviews

I'm not normally given to superlatives but this cottage really was superb. Beautifully furnished and decorated, clean, everything you could possibly want, helpful owner, handy location, lovely treats left for us. Definitely recommended.

Beautiful accommodation, very clean, had absolutely everything we needed for us and the dogs. Lovely welcome pack, small hairdryer, air fryer etc. Communication with Charlotte the owner was great. Beautiful pubs and restaurants on your doorstep with some nice littles shops as well. Would recommend without hesitation
Generally stunning thank you so much for a gorgeous week away. This is a great property, and it feels like the owners really do care. Super dog friendly the packet of treats left was a really lovely bonus, its beautifully decorated and a great location. The games room a real gem we werent sure how much wed use it but we had some real laughs in there throughout the week! Will definitely be recommending!
Wonderful, had a really comfortable stay. Thought having a shared garden might me a problem with having a dog but it wasn't . Would highly recommend this cottage, will definitely come back again.

Lorraine
Beautiful accommodation, clean, very comfortable & homely. Location is perfect just a short walk into the small town, with nice coffee shops and places to eat. Lovely walks along the river Dee. Great communication with the owner who is very helpful. Will definitely be returning.
A beautiful cosy home from home, it had everything you could possibly need and the welcome goodies were amazing! Another positive is that the location of the cottage is only a short distance from the town centre. The only slight negative is the parking. Although permits are provided, being a disabled driver and on my own I was worried to go out in the car in case I couldn't get a space when I returned. This absolutely wouldn't be an issue for families etc but something to bare in mind for people in my position. Saying that I hope to return very soon!
From booking with sykes cottages. Charlotte and Andy messaged straight away right up to on the day. Nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was ,spotless stunning and a 5 min walk into town. The basket of extras was so thoughtful of them ieButter milk, bread ,shortbread, fudge coffee jams crackers . We had a lovely quiet stay . The beds are so comfy . Everything was just perfect for us it was home from home. We have come home happy and re booked Derwen house. You will not be disappointed. Fresh roses in a vase too. Charlotte and Andy are the perfect hosts.5

A wonderful home from home. Spotlessly clean. Charlotte was an outstanding host and always available if needed. If we return to the area we will definitely stay here again.
We were made very welcome in this cosy cottage. It was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Charlotte had very kindly left a welcome pack with essentials for our first night including a bucket of logs for the fire. I would love to stay there again as we thoroughly enjoyed Llangollen too. Howard
Fabulous house and ideal for a weekend away, spotlessly clean and it had all the requirements one would need to cook etc. Also a lovely welcome pack was supplied, all four of us who stayed were very impressed.
Tracey
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely property in Llangollen. The house was spotlessly clean, very well equipped with everything we needed, and in a fantastic location, just a short, pleasant walk into the town centre. The welcome pack was a really thoughtful touch, and the instructions provided for using the amenities were clear and helpful. The street itself is fairly quiet during the week, but being close to a pub at the top of the street, we did notice considerable noise on the weekend with groups passing by and chatting loudly late into the night. This was more noticeable during our stay due to the unusually hot weather, as we needed the windows wide open at night. A fan in the property could be a helpful addition during warmer spells. Another small suggestion would be to consider adding blinds to the kitchen and bathroom windows, as the garden is shared and a little extra privacy might be appreciated by some guests. These are very minor points based on our personal experience and certainly didnt take away from what was overall a fantastic stay. We would definitely recommend this property and would be happy to return!
