Is Bryn Mawndy Right For You?

Discover why this cottage is ideal for different types of visitors

For Families
Children enjoy meeting Dolly the friendly horse who visits regularly. Sheep and cows graze in nearby fields. The property provides a cot and highchair for younger guests. Two sitting rooms give teenagers their own space. The open field at the front offers room to run around. Birds of prey flying overhead fascinate young wildlife watchers. Nearby Bala Lake provides watersports activities.
For Couples
This property suits groups rather than couples wanting an intimate retreat. The four-bedroom farmhouse is designed for eight guests with two separate sitting rooms. Couples would find the space excessive for romantic breaks. The remote location offers privacy but the property scale makes it better suited to family gatherings. Consider smaller cottages nearby for couple-focused stays with more appropriate sizing.
Pet Friendly
Bryn Mawndy operates a strict no pets policy. Dogs and other animals cannot stay at this property. The working farm setting with livestock including sheep, cows and a resident horse means pets would be unsuitable. You'll need to arrange kennels or pet-sitters before booking. The owners maintain this rule consistently so no exceptions are made for any guests.

Bryn Mawndy Reviews

Joanne
The house was perfect for 2 families of 4. Vey spacious and clean. Excellent standard. I would certainly recommend the accommodation.
Het is een prachtig huis met een mooi uitzicht over het landschap. Het huis voldoet aan alle wensen. Wij hebben er een prima tijd gehad. We komen graag nog een keer terug.
The cottage is exactly as described and well equipped. We had no issues getting there or finding cleaning products etc once inside. The location is very quiet with lovely views and a very friendly horse. All in all a great place to stay and ideally situated for travelling around North Wales!

Excellent accommodation , facility inside impressive , cozy , bright , plenty of shower and toilet facility which is remarkable. presence of a horse named Dolly is an extra amusement to pass the time. Every thing in terms of accommodation 1010, but local amenities and communication wise 610. Over all excellent!! and me with my family will take the chance again if we plan next holiday around. I will recommend for any one with big family.
Nicola
Very comfortable stay for our party of 6 people. Beautiful views from the patio and rooms. Any issues were quickly addressed by the owners who leave their mobile numbers in the information pack for ease of communication. The WiFi worked really well with a large group. We rarely used the ovens but they are a bit quirky if you are thinking of catering often for a large group. Also, I would take hand soaps and products for the sinks and bathrooms next time. Overall a lovely stay and we would go back. Thank you.

Lovely place on a beautiful location, stayed there for second time, we first stayed in the next door cottage back in April and loved it, I will say both houses are excellent, it feels like home away from home in beautiful location with everything u need for a break. Will definitely be visiting again, Missing Dolly the horse

Bryn Mawndy is a fantastic place to stay. There were 7 of us and we were so comfortable . The views are just stunning. The additional reception room is really useful if staying in a large group. The kitchen is really well equipped which we loved as we did quite a bit of cooking. We would stay here again in a heart beat!
Christine
The cottage is lovely. We were amazed at how well equipped the property was. It was perfect for our stay. Beds were very comfy. Cleanliness to a high standard. Would definitely recommend and visit again. The location is stunning and ideal for a relaxing break to get away from it all. Some lovely walks in the area.

We visit Wales 23 times a year. Usually we stay at different places. However, I am sure that we will return back here. It is a very beautiful cottage in a good location. Easy to access all our favourite and famous places in Snowdonia park. The cottage contains all necessary items for the stay and the kitchen is fully equipped. The cottage has two living room spaces and both contain wood burners. It allowed us to have peaceful and cosy evenings. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Lovely spacious property with unbeatable views. Idea location for exploring north Wales and its many attractions. Whilst the property was generally very well presented there were some very minor maintenance mentioned in other reviews and facilities issues. However none of these had a detrimental effect on our enjoyment of our holiday. Constructive criticism, provide the following, bath sheets rather than towels, ice cube tray, vegetable peeler, clothes hooks in showerbathroom, also a number of the baking trays did not fit in the oven.
Georgina
We had a lovely stay at Bryn Mawndy. Everywhere was clean and tidy. The instructions before going were very clear. We will definitely be returning Next Year.
Bryn Mandy is in a beautiful spot, and is a spacious house good for families. The views around are breathtaking and there is plenty of places to enjoy visiting. I think for the cost we had expected a little more luxury, it was too a good standard but didn't go that extra mile. We have stayed at many cottages for holidays and seen how the little touches can really enhance your stay. It would have been good if there has been more cutlery, more crockery and non plastic wine glasses. We would recommend to others families and those wanting a good size property.
Nicole
We had a 4 day stay at Bryn Mawndy, the house itself has absolutely stunning scenery around. Its quiet and the location is very isolated which was refreshing the horse was extremely friendly and my kids really enjoyed seeing her. The house itself was a nice house a few issues we found, the downstairs wasn't so clean, the fridge and freezer were a bit small and ina couple of the bedrooms the handles were broken on the drawers. Overall we really enjoyed the break.
We had everything we needed and the owners supported when asked. Lovely and spacious property accommodating all eight of us comfortably in beautiful surroundings.
Great location, seriously made us consider moving to the countryside. Wasnt 100 clean the beds looked a little bit grubby. But overall very happy with our stay. Highly recommend staying here, kitchen has everything you need. The only thing that would make it better is adding a hot tub. We would of paid more for that
This property was lovely and spacious. Every window was a picture window with fabulous views of the hills. It was very clean and felt like home with all the soft furnishings. It has everything you need. We enjoyed sitting out and watching the sheep, cows and horse in the field. The location has great access for many activities in Wales and the property is remote and peaceful. We would definitely stay again.
Howard
Great condition and super clean! No hassle as all things like utensils and cooking pan are all ready to use, our family enjoy so so much there! Great scenery with sheep and horse around you, wonderful journey and happy to stay there once again!
Great property and very spacious! The house was perfect and plenty of space for 8 adults and 2 babies. Nice and clean and great amount of utensils and plates etc. Angela was very responsive and they what three words were a great help. The only thing we struggled with was reading the dials on the oven as they were worn so maybe a little cheat sheet to help but we managed to pull them off the internet. Great property to spend New Years Eve in.
Returned for a second weekend visit to Bryn Mawndy. Great place for two families with childrenteenagers with plenty of space for everyone. It's comfortable and homely and worth the drive down narrow roads. We all loved the location of the house and would happily return again.
The cottage was quite remote, it took about 20 to 30 minutes by car in general to get to a supermarket, town, tearoom, walkingtracks. Roads are narrow, so a short distance takes a lot of time. On the other hand, the views are superb, and the surroundings are very quiet. The cottage itself is great, with a lot of space, good beds and bathrooms, well equipped kitchen. On arrival we missed a few kitchen items the problem was solved the same day.
The property was wonderful, very spacious with stunning views. The cleanliness was a bit of a let down which could be argued is more to do with the previous guests but was rectified straight away with a quick message to the owner same with a faulty blind. There's a few board games which was a nice surprise and made for a fun couple of evenings, likewise with sitting on the patio in the peace and quiet enjoying the surroundings. All in all a very good holiday at a beautiful place.
Hayley
Beautiful house however the cleanliness and amenities of the house was a major let down. To arrive to the property and the house be in a terrible state of cleanliness was a huge let down. We had to go round the house and hoover straight away it was that much of a mess pictures taken for proof, washing the surfaces and floors as it was stained with marks and crumbs everywhere. The twin room with the bathroom near it had a broken lamp, shoved under the bed with the broken pieces left behind so I'm assuming this was only just broken pictures again for proof. Our daughters twin room window wasn't safe with a faulty latch and a window that didn't close properly at the base so a huge gap was left which would of been terrible in the winter. All bathrooms were not clean at all, full of black mould around the rims and edges and marks all across the glass frames. Extractor fan didn't work in the family bathroom which wasn't helpful with the steam and condensation issues. The tap in the king size bedroom is extremely faulty and was a struggle to use. I'm sorry but the list could go on but I won't bore you with it all!! Beautiful house, stunning views and we had a lovely family holiday within the area but the house and stay was an issue for us.
Wonderful property in a beautiful location in North Wales. We enjoy walking and there were a huge range of options for that in this area be warned lots of footpaths were overgrownbulls in unmarked fiels etc! Property was very well appointed and nicely designed. Plenty of space for everyone. Helpful owners who did everything for us that we needed.
Cathryn
Thank you, the property was even better than the advert showed! Immaculate, comfy, well equipped.
Joanne
The property was beautiful in a gorgeous location surrounded by hills and mountains. The stairs were a bit steep for my 80 year old mother in law but the toilet downstairs was a god send for her. It was lovely to see the sheep and even better watching the birds of prey flying over and landing in the trees and fields. The roads getting to the property are very narrow so not good for the nervous driver. Everywhere was easy to get to and there was plenty to do.
Joanne
Lovely cottage with gorgeous views.
A beautiful property situated in a great location with amazing views, spotlessly ... A beautiful property situated in a great location with amazing views, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable one of the best holiday rentals I have ever stayed in
Justyna
Just perfect and absolutely beautiful views Lots of space amazing place to rest with your friends or family.
Melissa
A wonderful week was spent at this lovely house. It is in the most picturesque rural location which was so peaceful, with beautiful views from all windows. With lots to do locally we spent the week visiting the coast and local national trust properties. Great house for families to get together. Lots of space. My only recommendation would be to possibly have a small box of simple toys for little children, my daughter loves that when weve been elsewhere but by no means essential!
We had a fantastic time. The house was lovely and very clean. The rural location was lovely and peaceful. We enjoyed seeing the cows and sheep most mornings. We would definitely book this cottage again.
Absolutely beautiful property, spotlessly clean, very comfortable, amazing views. A little remote but otherwise perfect.
Suleman
Latest facilities powerful showers, comfy bed, plenty of open space, excellent heating, decor pleasant only scenic pictures. Very homely yet modern. Great WiFi. Anything one needs from a home, is available. Brilliant patio area and barbecue. Fixtures and furnishings completed to a high standard. Very grateful to the Almighty for a fantastic and memorable first break with the whole family of 7, including great grandma!
Lovely place just needs a few places of interest leaflets otherwise no problems
We had a great stay, couldnt think of a better place to catch up with some old friends!
Amazing modernised, clean, spacious property right in the middle of the Welsh countryside. Views spectacular. It is quite rural, which we love, therefore if visiting tourist areas on coast, will be at least 40 min drive. We did longest Zip line Zipworld and Snowdon railway both 1hr away, another Zipworld location FForest high ropes etc 20mins away. BewysyCoed 20 mins away has good eating out options reminds me of Aviemore in Scotland. Cottage well worth the money and would have loved to stay longer. I'm sure we will return. Only very slight negative as a little noise transference from neighbouring cottage to connected bedroom that had guests for a few days Up until 1am.
Annette
The house was excellent could not fault it. But it was more remote than we thought . Nice pub the crown, only 20 mins away and very friendly. We had a nice relaxing stay.
Our group stay for a week in a very modern, spacious, clean, beautiful home. The location is also isolated, we chose this property for those reasons and the views from the patio area are wonderful! The driveway is very spacious. The house has pretty much everything you would need for a stay with family or a group to visit North Wales. Those living in a big busy city will love the peace and quiet this house and the whole of North Wales has to offer. Waking up to nature of birds chirping and lambssheep's grazing the grass. Our group hiked Snowdon, visited Portmeirion, Llandudo, Aqueduct canoeing, Stack lighthouse, Bala & Bodnant garden during our stay. Thoroughly recommend this house.
