Cedar Gardens Reviews

Christine
This was our second visit to Cedar Gardens and we had another lovely, relaxing holiday. Peter, the caretakermanager was good to deal with as always. We ate at the dining table at one end of the sun trap balcony and retired with our drinks to the comfortable chairs at the other end of the balcony. We only had the birds for company in the peace and quiet it was utter bliss!
Frances
This is a fantastic place to stay with lovely views over the countryside. The gardens are fantastic and the children loved having the space to play in. We hope to return in the future.
Miriam
Very comfortable, wellequipped house with large, beautiful gardens. Helpful, friendly manager. Welcome basket thank you. House and gardens unsuitable for people with mobility problems.
This is an exceptional, roomy property in lovely tranquil gardens. Very clean and well equipped. We had a very enjoyable stay there. One thing to mention is the steps, up to the property, only a couple but quite narrow. Also stairs in the property, few down to the lower floor and a few up to the living area. Could be tricky if you have mobility issues.
Cedar gardens is very clean and comfortable, it is a very large property with a great balcony and superb gardens. Peter the host is very friendly.
Christine
We had a lovely relaxing week at Cedar Gardens. Peter met us at the property and gave us a guided tour which was much appreciated as was the welcome pack. We walked everyday from the door which included an uphill hike to the Jubilee Tower on Moel Famau and a stroll to The Golden Lion at Llangynhafel where the landlord was very friendly and very informative. One morning of rain did not affect our holiday as there are so many rooms to relax in overlooking the gorgeous grounds. This place is so quiet and peaceful with a sun trap balcony. We will definitely return.
The property is lovely with plenty of space for the three of us to enjoy. The beds are very comfortable and there is plenty of storage available. We would have preferred a larger parasol on the balcony but in fairness we could have sat in the shady areas of the vast garden. Unfortunately, the spiders behind one of the beds unnerved my sister and the few others in the house were quickly moved out inevitable in the countryside but some appeared to be well settled. The front door was stuck at one point so we were unable to gain access to the property but fortunately the caretaker turned up at the same time to help resolve the issue even though he lives only ten minutes away. He obviously has ESP! The access to the property is okay for larger cars but not suitable for nervous drivers. We mostly coped well with the stairs but those by the front door inside where they are very slim nearly caught us out a couple of times. The weather was wonderful throughout our stay which was an added bonus. Thank you so much for providing your house for us to stay in. Pam
Kristian
Absolutely superb. We couldn't have asked for more.
We received a very warm welcome on arrival. The property was warm and comfortable and the facilities excellent. The weather was cold and snowy and the garden room with log burner provided a wonderful retreat, and the provision of wood was a generous addition to the welcome basket of goodies which had been left for us. The area is beautiful with walking from the door of the property. It was easy to get to many places eg Chester and Llangollen and the coast.
Peter was very helpful and the property lovely.
This cottage was just so much better than the description! !! Everything for a prefect break. Fun to try and use every room. Definitely trying to make a return visit.
This is a huge property and the rooms and beds very comfortable. My son and I really enjoyed using the balcony, which is very large and the quiet room which had some very interesting books, deserving of staying there just to read them. Unfortunately not enough time to read all the ones I wanted to though. The kitchen and laundry room had everything we needed and the tv had Netflix, which was a surprise bonus. There was a lovely welcome pack with really really tasty home grown tomatoes, bread, welsh cakes, butter and there was a vase of flowers on the dining table which was a really thoughtful touch. I would mention that there are quite a few stairs and I think that should be highlighted to potential customers who may find them difficult but it didn't detract from the really unusual and spacious layout. We very much enjoyed our stay.
We absolutely loved our holiday here. Over the week, we had days out and days in. The property was perfect, relaxing and had everything we could have possibly needed. I would love to go again and would recommend this place to my family and friends. Reading the guest book I saw there were lots of returning guests. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Cedar Gardens absolutely lived up to expectations. A great place to relax and unwind, sit out on one of the various balconies, have a drink, watch the sunset, listen to the birds, go for a walk in the countryside, or if you feel more energetic go up Moel Famau. All facilities excellent and no shortage of the things you would expect. A great welcome when you arrive, friendly neighbours on the estate, and amazing gardens to sit out in. A great place to use as a touring base for North Wales.
Kathleen
The cottage is lovely, with everything we needed, there was a lovely welcome basket and fresh flowers on the table, the beds were very comfortable, two bathrooms with showers with plenty of hot water. Unfortunately the description of the cottage should state unsuitable for anyone with walking difficulties as the accommodation is split level the dinning room and kitchen upstairs also the large balcony upstairs. We managed because theres a small kitchen downstairs, this area is the main living area with a very small lounge which was dark, there is a bright morning games room. In my opinion this room would be nice as the lounge as its larger bright with a lovely view of the garden with a magnificent Cedar tree. Cottage suitable for couples, if there were twin beds in the large bedrooms it would appeal to friends who dont mind being in same room but dont want to sleep in same bed. The garden room we didnt use but feel in the spring summer it would be lovely, Ideal for a barbecue, theres even a fire pit. Overall a lovely cottage for couples and friends. But not for anyone with impaired mobility.
Angela
The large balcony shown in your pictures is actually split in two by a fencing panel.
We have just spent a week at Cedar Gardens and can honestly say the photos dont do it justice. The garden is so beautiful, so much so we actually spent a few days relaxing in it rather than exploring. The location is quiet so you get to see squirrels and rabbits running in the garden with an array of birds passing through too. We would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a quiet relaxing stay.
This was our 3rd stay at Cedar Gardens an idyllic spot for a relaxing break amid beautiful gardens & countryside. We are however, very reluctantly, having to make it our last stay as the stairs have become too much for me & I need single storey accommodation now. We have really enjoyed our holidays at Cedar Gardens & Peter Jones has always gone above & beyond to help us with any queries. A highly recommended venue!
No there is nothing that we could complain about, apart from that the building felt rather cold on arriving. Soon warmed up! Not easy to find. Beautiful surroundings with a very very old Cedar tree at the bottom of the garden. We would not mind going again.

The weather for our week 22. 08.20 to 29.08.20 was awful. This did not spoil our holiday due to staying in Cedar Gardens. We enjoyed everything about the property, from the comfort, space, history and the gardens. Everything you could possible need is provided from a well equipment kitchen to indoor and outside games. Due to the Covid 19 situation we where all ready for a change of scenery and relaxing, Cedar Gardens provided this and much more. The tranquil setting in Wales was the perfect bolt hole, for us it was just perfect. Thank you Peter for the lovely welcome gift and flowers, very much appreciated. We will return and hopefully the weather will be better and we will be able to explore this wonderful part of Wales. The Gullett family,
Andrew
Cedar gardens was fantastic. . we could not believe the amount of space we had . The gardens and property were enormous ! The property itself was equipped with everything we needed for our stay . Friendly welcome by peter the caretaker who keeps the gardens immaculate! Also lots of fresh bedding and towels available if we required them .. Beautiful views when sat on the balcony looking out on the amazing huge garden complete with 300 year old cedar tree ..playground for lots of cheeky squirrels !! BBQ and picnic area also available at the property and a conservatory area at the end of the gardens complete with wood burner which we didnt need as the weather was hot and sunny all week !! Big chest full of garden games available too !! The owners of this property have thought of everything ! All in all we had a fantastic time at cedar gardens and would recomend it to everyone!!
Very spacious. Very clean and comfortable. Very quiet and relaxing. Lovely views. Central to visit North Wales towns and villages.
Olivier
We have a great time again in Cedar Gardens! Plenty of things to visit, relax and shopping. We enjoy so much the garden with the winter garden and have the surprise it wins a garden award during our stay. Many thanks for all.
Trevor
Cedar Gardens is absolutely fabulous. With a balcony 50 feet long where you can sit and soak up the sun and enjoy the beautiful large gardens. With a choice of 3 rooms to sit, eat, or just relax in the peaceful surroundins. A choice of 2 large gardens, a conservatory with chairs, log fire and a kitchen where you can brew tea or make a coffee. We came home relaxed with fond memories. This was our second visit and would highly recommend it.
This accomadation is so well equipped we needed nothing more. Spotless, spacious & totally beguiling we will return!
Barbara
We had an amazing time, the gardens at the property are huge . We had unusually good weather, so enjoyed the garden games and bbq. The house had everything we needed and more. Hope to return some time soon.
Cynthia
Love this holiday home I know Im sure of a proper break when I go there and ... Love this holiday home I know Im sure of a proper break when I go there and that Im safe having booked my holidays through Sykes
Very spacious and comfortable accomodation in a quiet location. Beautiful gardens with views over the valley. Great location for local exploring.
We thought that it might be too good to be true, but everything written about Cedar Gardens is aboslutely true and really does have that wow factor when you see what you have got. We have nothing to add that has not already been said. We would reitereate though that it is difficult to find especially if you use a Sat Nav, by all means get close to it with a Sat Nave but then use the map they send you for the last mile.
Hossein
Beautiful property, very clean and fresh, very spacious with lovely gardens at a very good price. Peter was very helpful and friendly and came the meet us when we couldnt find the house. We would definitely return here.
Olivier
A great cottage where we spent 2 weeks very lovely. We appreciated the cottage's size, very well equipped. A very charming garden with a nice conservatory. A lot to do around. Thanks Peter for his welcome.
Second time for us at Cedar Gardens and once again loved it ,we will probably return . Thank you Peter for the work you put in to keep it lovely. Neil and Joan Higham . Wigan.
Cedar Gardens was everything we hoped for & more. We intended to use the accommodation as a base to explore the area, but we felt so comfortable & relaxed there that we did very little more than enjoy the beautiful gardens. This was such well equipped accommodation, we wanted for nothing. Breakfast on the balcony was a real treat as the weather was wonderful!
The cottage looked good from the pictures and reviews but it was even better when we got there . I loved the big garden and the views from the balcony while having breakfast . Probably the best cottage we have stayed in nobody wanted to leave hopefully we can return again soon .I would like to thank the people at Cedar Gardens for the good work in making it such a pleasant stay in such a beautiful Place
Cynthia
Yes it's an outstanding property with every need met and relaxation in mind
Set in a quiet and idyllic location, the cottage has everything you need, from all the mod cons to a huge garden. We used it mainly as a base while we went sightseeing around North Wales, but on returning back later each evening we made use of all the available amenities to us, which included the garden games croquet, boules, badminton, and ring toss. These were kept in the separate garden room next to the large rear lawn. Believe it or not the only thing we didn't use was the TV! My wife, two daughters and myself found it difficult to leave on the day of our departure, such was our enjoyment of the holiday. We would love to return, and I am sure once the word gets out, that this new addition to Sykes Cottages, will result in other holidaymakers having the same opinion. Thanks for letting us stay at this fantastic cottage.
Lynnette
We were very impressed by the well equipped and comfortable cottage, definitely one of the loveliest places we have stayed in. It wasn't the easiest place to find and we had to ask a passing policeman for directions. Beautiful gardens to admire from the balconies and garden room. This is a truly delightful place to stay with a very welcoming host.
The property was super once we found it.
