The cottage sleeps 11 guests across five bedrooms. Ground floor rooms include one king-size and one double with en-suite shower. Upstairs you'll find two king-size rooms and one triple room. Two bedrooms share Jack-and-Jill access to a shower room. The main bathroom features a Jacuzzi bath and walk-in shower.

Abbey Cottage was very spacious and accommodated our multi generational family of 10 and a dog without any problems. Having 2 lounges was excellent and the pool table, table tennis and darts were well used by all. Garden was large with plenty of seating and enjoyed by all. Children enjoyed picking blackberries. Location was very convenient for shops, take aways, castle and surrounding places of interest. Having an ev charger was also very convenient for charging the car. Although it had no impact on our stay some general diy, maintenance could make this place look really nice. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend.

A spacious, well maintained home that was very well equipped and comfortable for our stay. Plenty of space for a group of 6 adults. The host was very helpful and informative!

We had an enjoyable holiday week here with seven of us across three generations. Initial feelings were disappointing given the expectations from the photos, especially the setting of the cottage. The cottage was very clean except for one bedroom. The facilities were good overall but things like one oven not working, unusable cooking frying pans, the recycling instructions just plain wrong, broken toys in the playroom, the unmaintained garden and worn dining chairs all contributed to a feeling of a lack of care. Access to the abbey required climbing over the locked gate as the supplied key doesn't fit the rustedup lock. Beware that the ground floor ensuite bedroom has a skylight with no blind, so you wake at dawn... We had a good time but felt the niggles stopped it from being excellent. The location is good for town facilities, pubs, shops, etc. as practically everything is in walking distance. The castle is recommended, and the walk around the walls. Also recommend the 50s museum.

This was a fabulous house and a great trip away for us. We absolutely loved the whole experience from the moment we got there. It was central to lots of places so we were out and about throughout our week and there were also lovely eating places nearly and plenty of supermarkets if you wanted to eat in. Would definitely recommend and we will certainly consider going back again. Thanks for having us.

We have just returned from our second holiday at Abbey Cottage and it was just as amazing as we remembered! The property provided us with a fantastic base and hours of fun playing snooker, pool, darts, table tennis and basketball. The house had a good layout and felt very spacious even with a large group of people. The garden was massive and great to explore especially for the dog. We all enjoyed a BBQ, local takeaways and restaurants as recommended. Useful to have the EV charger at the property too. Communication was great with the owner before, during and after the holiday. We would love to return for a third time!

As a family of four adults ,three children and two dogs we enjoyed the spaciousness and facilities at Abbey Cottage. The boys particularly enjoyed the pool table & table tennis table. There is also a play room which the youngest enjoyed. Abbey Cottage is well located for touring North Wales. Denbigh itself has a castle and the history of Abbey Cottage is fascinating. However, we feel that the photographs on the website need to be updated and the Sykes rating should be reviewed. The property left a lot to be desired in the standard of cleanliness. The property is in need of general TLC, Kitchen chairs need replacing, the large sofa in the family room is badly worn and dirty. We could only use two of the three bathrooms, due a shower not draining . If these things were addressed it would be an amazing property.

A great property for large family groups with plenty of games pool table a great feature. A unique quiet oasis in the town. For me, a major aspect was the EV charger essential as there is a sparsity of chargers in that part of Wales

Lovely old cottage in a beautiful location with interesting history close to the friary. Garden area was well kept and peaceful. The cottage has ample rooms for a large group which were clean and tidy. Beds were clean and comfy. Kitchen was well equipped for self catering. Large sittingliving room with plenty of sofas. Games room had a great pool table. Good location for exploring north wales. We had a fantastic weekend there and would definitely go again.

The bedding could do with an upgrade duvets and pillows not comfortable mattresses are fine though. A vanity unit in one of the bedrooms would be good to be able to sit down to do hair and makeup or at least a mirror in the main bathroom near the window. An additional downstairs cloakroom would be a real added bonus.

Fantastic property, we enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house all the facilities are great and for the age of house everything is in character. Ian the owner came to great us and explained how things work the grounds were very good and the old Abbey is great to see, shops and local amenities very close and easy to walk too.

Ian the owner of the cottage was more than helpful when we arrived, nothing was too much trouble. I have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to anyone.

My family and I had a lovely stay at abbey cottage. I personally loved the thought of being only 5 minutes away from village and local amenities yet the feeling of being in the countryside. The grounds were lovely, cottage was comfortable and spacious enough that even though we were there together as a family we werent falling over each other.We will definitely stay again, also thought the hens eggs were a lovely welcoming start from the owner Mr Carpenter.

We had an amazing holiday staying at Abbey Cottage. We were a party of 6 adults, 2 children and a dog. The house was very spacious and we all felt like we had our own private spaces as well as having the lounge, dining table and games room as places to gather together. We spent lots of time playing pool, snooker, darts and table tennis which kept us all entertained. We also made use of the free starter pack and enjoyed a lovely barbecue out in the garden. As one of us have an electric car, we found having the charger at the house really useful. The house is in a great location and we had some lovely days out. We enjoyed a meal out at the Dinorben Arms as recommended and it was fantastic! The local takeaways were good too. We would definitely recommend and would love to return one day. Thank you!

We had an amazing week at Abbey Cottage. The house is beautiful and in a perfect location to explore North Wales. Mr Carpenter met us on arrival to go through some things which was very helpful especially given how much more advanced they are in Wales with recycling! The toilet flushing situation upstairs and the regular smell of the septic tank was a bit off putting but understandable in such an old house. The garden is massive and beautiful but we felt that a bit more maintenance was needed there were nettles everywhere and with young children that was a problem. The ponds were also cause for concern with young children and dogs. Overall we had a fabulous week we would definitely recommend the cottage for large groups celebrating special occasions or just wanting to get to know North Wales.

A beautiful house with a beautiful garden. We are an extended family of 11 we all fitted comfortably in the house. The kitchen is well equipped. With various pots pans and crockery. The garden reminded me of the story the secret garden. There are two small ponds but we were just extra careful with the smaller children in our party. We had a little issue with the TV and I messaged the owner it was fixed within 2 hours as he respected our privacy and waited until we had gone out for lunch A brilliant peaceful family break.

Having a Friary within the grounds is so unique. The owner gave a friendly welcome explaining where everything is. My family all enjoyed their stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Abbey Cottage. The interior space is fantastic but would benefit from some new furniture and bed linen to give more comfort. Overall, the house and gardens are a perfect space for a large family.

A really enjoyable stay. A couple of hiccups. Instructions to heating the water not detailed enough. The first showers were cold. Host was quick to send further instructions. No instructions for the microwave ideally putting the instructions on the shelf above the microwave would have been useful.

Enjoyed a mini break at Abbey Cottage with the family. Beautiful building and history. Easy location and great for using as a base if you want to explore North Wales. The darts, table tennis, snooker table etc were a great hit with adults and children, especially on the rainy mornings! Unfortunately didn't make much use of the garden due to the weather but it looked lovely. It's previously been a clearly loved home so maybe some updates would be nice, but everything we needed was provided and Ian was great at handing over when we arrived. Managed to fit in a Denbigh castle visit and dinner stop at the Copper Pot before leaving on the Thursday

We had a lovely family stay at Abbey Cottage for my father in laws 70th birthday. The house was lovely and unique with lots of space for a family of 10. The garden was amazing and great for our 2 dogs as fully enclosed and safe. I delt with a gentleman named Ian who was friendly and helpful. The one issue we had was a bed broke. This was down to it being a childs bed I think and an 5ft 8inch adult sleeping in it. The room with the 3 single beds either need to be advertised as a childs room or more substantial single beds need putting in. This however wasnt an issue and Ian was more than happy to help. We would highly recommend this cottage, we had a great time and definitely would return

Abbey Cottage is a beautiful old building full of character and history. Although large and spacious with stunning features the cottage is warm and cosy with a relaxing, friendly feel to it. We had a wonderful stay and made to feel extremely welcome. Cottage is close to all amenities but down a quiet lane so feels very secluded and picturesque with the amazing friary ruins in front garden and beautiful gardens at the rear. We will definitely be returning.

I spent ages searching for the right accomodation for our family gathering and this one definitely lived up to expectations. A beautiful spacious property which worked well for all ages from 5 months to 85 years. I loved the fact it was a peaceful location and felt rural at the end of the long driveway but essentials were nearby as it was only 5 minutes walk away to the nearest shop, takeaway and pub!

A lovelyrustic property, very spacious but some things basic, plumbing loud and strange, probably due to adapting a quirky old property. We had a lovely visit, billiards and games great fun, garden very peaceful, would happily return. Italian restaurant is excellent and only 250 yards away!

All 3 generations enjoyed this cottage. So private and yet so near shops, cafes and lovely scenery. As the weather was mixed, we enjoyed the games room and the second sitting room for down time. The only minor problem was a mirror in the downstairs ensuite as it was far too high for any of us to use. Apart from that everything was wonderful.

Me and my family had an amazing stay here at Abbey cottage, we would highly recommend. It is so beautiful and spacious with the most amazing garden.
