Stable at Ystabl Reviews

Lovely cottage on a working farm, not isolated but far enough away to enjoy the tranquility of the Welsh countryside, every thing you need to have an enjoyable stay and the owner Anwen so very helpful and friendly, always on hand for any issues.
Barbara
The cottage suited our requirements perfectly, and although we didn't use it, there was a nice hot tub available, if we wanted to. Situated on a small farm, in a rural setting with beautiful views across the valley. The owners were very friendly and couldn't be more helpful.
Angela
Another wonderful stay here. Alwyn and Anwen are lovely, very welcoming and always on hand should you need them. Definitely reccomend if you want a quiet holiday but within easy reach of seaside and towns. We will be staying again.
Very pleasant stay. Quiet location, which really suits us, with lovely views of the countryside Anwen very friendly and helpful and nice hot tub
Louise
We had a lovely stay at this secluded and cosy cottage. The host was wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed. Although the weather wasn't on our side, we still enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing break. One thing to note is that the roads leading to the cottage are mostly single track, which can be tricky at times. However, once you arrive, the charm of the location more than makes up for it. Overall, a great escape if you're looking for some quiet time away!
Nechama
We love this place, perfect for a complete switch off
At this holiday cottage, you get everything and more. Anwen and Alwyn were the perfect hosts. The hot tub was a great addition after spending a day on the beach
Anwen was super friendly and helpful. We were able to enjoy the facilities and space without interruption. The property is secluded, which is exactly what we wanted. The hot tub was a highlight and a real treat
Pauline
This was a delightful cottage to stay at, the views from the back garden were spectacular, all mod cons. They were some beautiful black shiny Cows in the field nearby. Took some pictures of the spectacular sun sets. Owner very helpful and friendly.
Angela
This is our second time here and it was just as good. If you want a peaceful holiday then this is the place to stay. It is within easy reach of so many places. Abergele, Prestatyn, Llandudno, Rhyl to name a few. Have a day out and come back and relax in the hot tub. We love it here and the hosts are lovely, friendly and helpful people.

Handrail to the stairs comes off the wall, as Anwen pointed out to me when she saw I have mobility issues. My husband discovered this twice and it should have been repaired before being let. The upstairs was spacious though we didn't need the 3 chairs, sofa and cot. The sofa bed in the lounge was horrendous to sit on and only possible if you put all cushions under the front edge. The only Windows downstairs to the back, the kitchen being windowless, were a pair of French doors... one of which has blown double glazing so there was no view out. The doors had to be open to see out and watch the rain. The Last mile and a half to the property are on very narrow single tracks with no passing places so drive with care, we had a couple of close calls Anwen was a really nice lady.
An amazing experience ! Myself and my partner stayed for 3 nights to celebrate our anniversary, and we absolutely loved it ! The hot tub was already warm and ready for us upon arrival ! The cottage itself was lovely and has everything you need ! The shower is perfect and very easy to use. The owners Anwen and Alwyn are lovely with a great sense of humour, they clearly care about your experience and take great pride in the presentation of the property and the surrounding area. Thank you both and we will definitely be back soon !
Stewart
The cottage was brilliant and the owners were brilliant and fully informative. The views were outstanding and we are planning our next stay asap
Sophie
This was such a lovely stay, very much worth it. Alwen and Anwen are so lovely. The cottage is such a lovely place. Its lovely and cosy. Its very much worth every penny. Would defiantly recommend to anyone.
Had a lovely 3 days break over the new year weekend, it was everything we needed after a hectic Christmas visiting family. Cottage was set in the beautiful Welsh countryside and was nice and secluded but close enough to abergele to pick up any last min bits or to have a pint in the pub 50 min walk away and it's a lovely walk through the countryside or just a 10 min drive away. Some pubs to recommend the Harp Inn gorgeous quaint little pub in the middle of abergele town that serves stunning home made comfort food and also the bull hotel great food served here too but not as cute and cosy as the Harp. The cottage was lovely and clean and all of the basics were provided tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid etc. It was very cosy and warm and the heating worked a treat in the cold weather. The only fault I would have to say was the lack of comfort provided by both the sofa and the double bed. The sofa in the living room was a sofa bed and was very old and not comfy to sit on at all we ended up opening it out into the sofa bed but this took up all of the room in the living area so it was a bit of a squeeze. And the mattress in the bedroom wasn't the comfiest either but I guess mattress comfort is a subjective thing. It was lovely to stay on a working farm and hear the cows mooing every so often and also be visited by Anwen and Alwyns two gorgeous and gentle cats whenever we were outside. The hot tub was perfect! It was lovely and warm and ready for us to use when we arrived and was super simple to use too. We spent a lot of our time in it and it really was a great addition. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and have already recommended it to family and friends! Thanks again to Anwen and Alwyn for hosting us and we hope to be back soon.
This is a lovely property in the perfect location for exploring North Wales. The owners were very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The cottage was very well maintained and we loved having the hot tub to relax in of an evening. Abergele is a short drive away for shops and pubs, also Trawlers Fish & Chip shop is very good for a chippy tea! We wouldn't hesitate in booking to stay here again if returning to the area.
Gerard
We had such a lovely time, cottage clean, comfortable and is equipped with everything you need. Bed comfortable, beautiful little garden we loved the hot tub The cottage is Situated in a beautiful location, surrounded by cows & sheep amd central to so many places to visit. We will definitely stay again and would highly recommend this cottage. Thank you so much for a fantastic holiday
Very welcoming owners, and cottage well equipped for a short break. We slept really well and loved getting up to countryside views and hearing the cows! The farm is reached by narrow country lanes but fortunately we encountered very few other vehicles. We really felt 'away from it all' . Hot tub and patio area were lovely, but it was a shame to find the windows and patio of the adjoining cottage overlooked the hot tub. And sadly the wonderful views from the hot tub were obscured by a large static caravan and fence. The cottage is really well placed for sightseeing . Check out Rob's chippy in Abergele, best fish n chips ever!
Judith
We had a wonderful stay at Ystabl, Abergele, homely accommodation, stunning location, lovely hosts Anwen & Alwyn, 1. 6 mile single track lane but we got used to the Welsh roads ! Hot tub was great, near to lots of places to visit, Llandudno, Conwy Castle, Bodnant gardens, Colwyn Bay, great Orme.
Stella

Angela
We had a lovely stay here. All the facilities were good and the hot tub was a bonus. A great base to explore this part of North Wales. Anwen and Alwyn were wonderful hosts and were always on hand if needed. We will definitely book again
Great base to stay but you do need a car to get about its a couple of miles to the nearest village with some out of the way right roads n bends, having said that would deffo stay again the place is very nice and the hosts are lovely n friendly people and on hand to help.
Simone
We had a fantastic time, the owners were lovely & the hot tub was unreal, I would highly recommend this property.
Bernard
Fantastic stay and having the Hot tub ready to use was fantastic. Could not have been made more welcome.
Jacqueline
A lovely long weekend stay, beautiful cottage and hot tub was great. The owner was so lovely and helpful will definitely be booking again.
Everything about the stay exceeded the advertisement and expectations, we had a lovely weekend and would highly recommend.
We had a short break at this lovely cottage. When we arrived we were greated by Anwen, and she immediately made us feel welcomed. We were shown around and instructed on how to use the hot tub which was perfect and much needed. There was milk and Welsh Cakes in the fridge . Anwen was readily at hand to advise on places to visit and things to do. Everything was just perfect and we couldn't of asked for a better stay.... Mobile phones signal is not great and whilst there was WiFi is could only be picked up in the upstairs window but for us that was fine as this was a break to get away life's worries, and not having Internet to dominate our lives for a few days was a welcome change. Well recommend and hopefully we will be able to return in the future.
Wonderful welcome and beautiful setting. Cottage was lovely clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Would definitely visit again!
Anwen was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and advising things to do and visit locally
Anwen was a brilliant hostess. Nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was comfortable and clean and there was even a pint of milk in the fridge and a box of Welsh tea bags waiting for us along with some Welsh cakes too. The hot tub was a definite winner and the views were incredible. My only critique would be that the WiFi didnt work so signal and internet connection were limited for the week, however this is a small thing that didnt reduce our enjoyment for the week. We really enjoyed our chats with Anwen and how personable she is. Her little kittens are so cute too that we wanted to take them home with us. A real enjoyable stay and the rest and relaxation we both needed. Definitely recommend!
Anwen and her husband were so friendly and kind and knowledgable. The hot tub was brilliant, loved our evenings in there. A lovely, relaxing break
No doubt the good weather helped as we could not have picked a better week to visit. The accommodation was perfect and a great base to visit Wales followed by a relaxing evening in the hot tub. The owners were very welcoming and were only concerned in making our stay as pleasant as possible. Truly wish we were still there ! Thank you for a great week.
Very enjoyable stay, the hosts were very welcoming and nice little touches in ... Very enjoyable stay, the hosts were very welcoming and nice little touches in the property and advice from the host on the area made it an excellent holiday
Daniel
The host was very nice, she came and introduced herself when we arrived and offered plenty of suggestions for places to visit. The property itself was exactly as described, had stunning views and we had a great time staying here.
