Bryn Dwr Reviews

Great place second time we have used this so close to town & great private parking
It was a genuine pleasure to stay in such a unique and mostly wellapportioned house in an amazing location. Our family of 5 spent a lovely 4 nights here between Christmas and New Year and despite the weather being too cold to fully appreciate everything the property and location had to offer, we left with fond feelings and good memories. The living and dining rooms are spacious with plenty of seating, and the bedrooms were enough to keep 3 teenagers happy. Being an older property, there was a lot of dust and some of the layout might trouble other guests the downstairs loo, while a welcome addition, is a bit cramped, and the top of the stairs would give parents of younger children or people with mobility issues cause for concern although the stairs have been fitted with multiple handrails to alleviate that issue. That said, we all agreed that we would definitely stay there again.
Really lovely home, with great quirky decor. Fabulous having 2 parking spaces. Great location. Loved having a coffee in the small conservatory looking out over the river. Owner left a nice welcome note and bottle of wine on arrival, and milk in the fridge. Some fun scary decor was added for the time of year, which the kids loved. Would definitely recommend this property to others. A real gem of a place in beautiful Llangollen. Thanks for letting us stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at BrynDwr which is right in the middle of the charming Welsh town of Llangollen and perched on the edge of the River Dee. On arrival the house was clean and welcoming with milk, tea and coffee and even a bottle of wine. The 5 Bedrooms all have very comfortable beds many with fabulous views of the river across to the pretty town. Its really convenient that one of the bedrooms is downstairs with its own ensuite, as the stairs could be a challenge for some but there are handrails to ensure safety. Although the house is old, the heating system is simple to operate and kept us warm when needed. We ate our breakfasts on the outdoor decking watching the various activities of canoeists in the river and enjoyed the view of Castel Dinas Bran. Then took the steps to explore the garden below and discovered that there is a cosy shed away from it all to sit in the quiet. One day of our stay was wet so we had to cancel our plans for outdoor activities, but the lounge had plenty of games and a TV to keep us entertained. Theres also a 2nd TV in the dining room. The house itself is fascinating as parts of it are reputed to be 17thC but the modern plumbing and amenities gave us everything we needed for a comfortable stay we also enjoyed the eclectic collection of quirky art works and sculptures. Theres no shortage of pubs and restaurants on the doorstep of the house and many local walks and attractions within the town and surrounding area. All in all, we felt that wed made a good choice for our weekend and it is an ideal place for a good holiday or break at any time of year.
