The Ranch Reviews

We were wowed the moment we got out of the car
Vanessa
Me, husband and Mini Schnauzer Guinness were very comfortable at The Ranch. We enjoyed several evenings sitting in the games roombar having more than a few drinks, and husband very much enjoyed music on the large TV whilst playing on the retro games machine. The garden is secure and even with a vehicle on the drive still has enough space for a dog to enjoy moving around. We never used the car for dog walking all week as everything was within easy walking distance the town with its Annual August Bank Holiday Classic Car Show, the beaches and beach bar, the woodland walknature reserve. The train station is less than 5 minutes walk away and the bus station not much further. Dog owners be aware that restrictions are in force on the beach but they are allowed on a small section towards the Rhyl end of the beach, and there are dune walks as well. Lidl and Home Bargains is also within a short walking distance if needed. A visit to Dyserth Falls is only a short drive away but we walked there and back with the dog. A few hours there and back but a lovely walk if that's your bag. The accommodation was very clean and no there isn't a dining table as previously reviewed but there are small portable tables to eat off whilst watching TV. We didn't mind this as this is what we are used to at home. There is a very handy 'open all hours' fast food shop Munch at the end of the alley and an Indian Restaurant across the road however and this could just be a one off we both had different varieties of chicken curry on the Saturday we arrived, and the next morning I vomited and my husband had terrible diorhea for 24 hours, so be wary if visiting this establishment. The property could benefit from an informationwelcome pack as some of the appliances took some figuring out as we are gas users and are unfamiliar with new modern electric hobs etc., and whilst we all have Google it would be handy to know where the nearest emergency services are for both people and dogs in case they are needed. The property is bursting with mod cons and is very quirky inside and out. I'm sure that over time attention to the smaller details like added utensils etc. will be added. We would easily visit The Ranch again and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a property in this area.
Olivia
We had no expectations when booking this since we saw no reviews on the listing. Well from the moment we arrived to leaving we were very very happy with the accomodation. The place was difficult to find as Google maps doesn't take you directly to it, but I rang the number provided on the listing and spoke to someone straight away who gave me directions. We stayed with our dog and found the B&B to be very dog friendly secure area for them to free roam when the gate is shut, dog bed provided in the bar, hosepipe available to clean down any messes on the patio. It was quiet and away from the main road which was great for our dog since she is reactive at times. The house is less than a 5 minute walk from the nearest beach which has a restaurant and play areas and also a big field nearby to run your dogs. Walking 5 mins in the other direction takes you to a shopping precinct, high street and train station. The beds were incredibly comfortable to sleep in, and the fact there is a ceiling fan in every room really helped on the hot nights. Lovely outdoor area to chill in the bath, alcoholic drinks were kindly left for us to enjoy as well as some bath soaks and bubble bath. The bar also adds a great feature, has a working retro arcade machine and a TV in there. Overall we would 100 book this place again, a little hidden gem tucked away in the Welsh coast!
The Ranch was a nice base to visit the area, close to the beach, the central ammeanities and the railway station. It was clean although a couple of the light bulbs were not working, nor was the fans on the ceiling. This was pointed out to the owner and he stated he would rectify straight away. There was no information file on arrival which is useful. The only real draw back is that there was no washing machine and no dining table, we had to eat our meals on small card tables but as the sofa was low down our chins were nearly resting on the tables. Later we took our meals downstairs and had them in the bar. Apart from that it is a nice holiday home for one family or two couples.
An outstanding property with lots of special touches, including a wooden bath tub under a covered outside area. I am normally a very light sleeper but slept soundly without needing my earplugs. The flagged yard serves as a suntrap and was only missing a sunbed to feel we were abroad. The games room provided a nice cool shaded area. Would definitely recommend staying here!
