Hendre Reviews

The house was very clean and comfortable. Great location, near the beach, shops, etc, Abbi the host was very accommodating!. The night lights around the house were very helpful. It was a really enjoyable stay!
Tracey
Beautiful. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. Really central location for North Wales coast. Abbi the host was lovely.
Hendre is located on a quiet suburban street, and about a ten minute walk from local supermarket COOP, cafes, takeaways and the seafront. However we couldnt find an actual restaurant within walking distance the closest was a Sunday lunchtime carvery at The Yacht. Communication with Abbi before we arrived was great, and once there we found the accommodation is wellequipped with modern appliances that all worked properly, and was spotless on our arrival. The folder in the kitchen drawer with all of the UserManuals was an appreciated touch, as was the welcome pack. As there were only the two of us staying we were able to use the downstairs bedroom without any issues, but at 64 I would have found the dormer bedrooms a challenge! However, I did find the bed a little more firm than Id ideally like. My wife was fine with it though. We both had problems with the rugs in the bedroom bunching up and becoming triphazards. My guess is that they were designed to be laid on laminate floors and laying them on carpet gives too much movement potential. The biggest negative is the bathroom. Although modern and nicely finished, it is cramped. Even my wife at 54 found the shower narrow, and I couldnt turn around in it at all. The worst thing is the position of the loorollholder. Its far too close to the loo, and with a full roll in it, the edge of a metal flap is digging into your armribs when youre seated. Without care you could give yourself a really nasty scrape on it. Another thing we noticed was the wallpaper was starting to peeloff the bedroom ceiling. Its purely an appearance thing and didnt actually interfere with our enjoyment of the stay in the slightest, but it was surprising in the context of an otherwise immaculately presented property. In the lounge the sofa was spacious and comfortable though maybe another couple of cushions would have been nice. The SMART TV worked properly, but it is the only provided entertainment option, there is no radio, CD player or IPOD dock. During the week we stayed it was too windy to want to sit out in the garden, but it appeared to have plenty of seating options. On thing we did struggle with was the recycling. There are five different bins plus one bag, and the lettering has worn off them, so we ended up having to go through Conwy Councils website to find out what went where. Its a more complex system than we are used to at home, and more instructions in the ringbinder would have been useful to us. Overall this is good accommodation at a fair price, and the negatives are quite easy for the owner to remedy.
The house was spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. The welcome basket and milk and drinks in the fridge were a lovely. The beds were very comfortable.
Hannah & Joseph
Everything was fantastic and very clean! Whatever we needed was provided for! Just a note that of the two double bedrooms, only one is situated on the ground floor, not two as stated in property description. The little night lights dotted around were very helpful. Thanks again for the beautiful stay!
Stuart
The property was very warm, clean and comfortable. Everything was new and worked well. The owner was very pleasant and responsive. We really enjoyed sitting in the conservatory and on warm days in the back garden. The property was near to lots of good places to visit Colwyn Bay, Llandudno, Rhuddlan etc.
