Cwm heulog Reviews

Philip
Lovely stay to get away from hustle and bustle , on a working farm . Large rooms every thing you could need is there .
Have just returned from this property after spending a week it certainly lived up to our expectations plenty of space well equipped with every thing we needed ,plenty of storage space and importantly even a utility area with both a washing machine and a chest freezer which was ideal with three young children On arrival the house was lovely and warm and welcoming and even had two logburners as well as the central heating. .All rooms were spacious overall a lovely property i would recommend to any one .
I had a wonderful week at Cwm Heulog the accommodation was perfect in every way. The views from the conservatory are stunning and it was lovely to be on a working farm and watching all that was happening. Megan and Hugh were so helpful. A week to remember for the absolute peace and quietness spent in this very beautiful and amazing place.

We can sum up our holiday at Cwm heulog is two words absolutely brilliant. We were a group of 5 family members and friends, all pensioners and found the accommodation perfect for our needs, and enjoyed every minute of our weeks stay in this lovely bungalow set on a sheep farm in North Wales. This is an ideal location for many of the attractions in the area, with most being only a short drive away. Dont be put off by thinking its on a working farm, we saw the odd vehicles and occasionally the sheep dogs barking, but the peace and quiet was lovely, and a stunning view across the valley. We 100 recommend this accommodation and our thanks to Megan who hosted our visit.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Lots of space for the kids indoors. There was no flat space externally to play, however the village nearby has a field & play area. The owners were very welcoming & allowed our kids to visit the farm, which was very nice. The only challenge was that the boiler was very loud when showering & we needed to shower earlier to avoid disturbing the children at bed time.
From the second we arrived, the property felt so relaxing and homely, very spacious, clean and fresh looking, well equipped kitchen, everything you need for a great stay, greeted by and great communication throughout with the owner, beautiful views looking out from the conservatory, great location, 5 minute drive to the local village and 15 minute drive to Abergele, if there is one slight annoyance, that would be the wasps and flies but considering the property is on a working sheep farm and we were exceptionally lucky with the weather, we quickly got used to it with the help of a can of Rapid, but all in all highly recommended, we are definitely considering booking for next year.

THIS WAS A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY BREAK FOR MY WIFE AND ME NICE AND RELAXING AND WATCHING FARMER HERDING THE SHEEP AND THE VIEWS ARE BEUTIFUL FROM THE CONSERVATORY ,WE ARE CERTAINLY GOING BACK HAS SOON AS WE CAN ,A VERY BIG THANKYOU MEGAN AND YOUR HUBBY . FROM AUSTIN & FRANCES X

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage and surrounding area was beautiful. The only criticism we have is that there was no instructions or comment book but other than that, it was wonderful.
We have already sent a message To the owners, that it is a wonderful place to ... We have already sent a message To the owners, that it is a wonderful place to visit ,the area around is easy to get to, The cottage is very cosy, but not small in any way,the kitchen fully equipped, bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, we would happily go back tomorrow for another week ,
The house was lovely, beautiful view across the valley. It was so peaceful and comfy. Great nights sleep in the very comfortable beds and very quiet location and dark skies really aided sleep. All facilities were great and it was spotlessly clean, didn't want to leave.
We've now enjoyed many stays at Cwm heulog& always enjoy our time there. Spacious bungalow in a superb position with beautiful views & so much of N Wales within easy reach. Already looking forward to our next visit. Many Thanks Gill& Mike March 25
The directions from A55 to cottage where not very good, i. E. distance from Abergele. Also perhaps a sign on the A546 road to farm with name on would have been an advantage especially if arriving in the dark. The cottage was great but a bit cold on arrival, Sykes website information says heating included, 2 wood burners but no logs. Rang David and he did bring us 2 and half a bag of off cuts of wood, not enough to run 2 wood burners, so we ended up buying logs from local shop. Also an information pack would have been good. Information about recycling, bin collection etc., how to operate heating in conservatory. I hope you will find this constructive feedback as we did enjoy our stay.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the property and the location, very cosy ... Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the property and the location, very cosy home and beds very comfy, just one suggestion could do with some mirrors in the bedrooms not a complaint just a suggestion
Another great holiday. Third time staying at the property. It has all the comforts and facilities that we needed. Look forward to booking again next year
Since discovering Cwn heulog a few years ago we do not stay anywhere else in North Wales now. Spacious, well furnished, quiet, equipped with everything you could need for a holiday. Good views, especially in the snow! The new ensuite is lovely, though the water pressure is low and takes along time to heat the water in the shower. I only mention incase the owners are not aware of this. We will be back next year for our next stay
Tricia
This was our fourth visit and it was as excellent as ever. Great location, great views and great accomodation. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Jackie
Ensuite was lovely but shower not very good, new supports under mattress would help single beds, everything else fine. Lovely holiday as usual.
Samantha
When we arrived we were very surprised how big the house was n the views were to die for especially from the sun room. Very comfortable beds n furnishings were lovely parking was very easy n easy to find ........directions perfect. Lovely part of the country lovely welcome pack with fresh eggs
This is the second year we have stayed as a family at Cwm Heulog. The property is spacious and being a bungalow on one level which is great for the grandchildren to run about. It is on a working farm and the children loved watching the animals. The location in a lush green valley is great for quiet relaxation and excellent for getting about the area of North Wales. Megan and family are really friendly hosts.
We enjoyed the location. The bungalow was very spacious. The double beds had poor mattresses. Settees were tired & lacked support. The ensuite shower was very poor flow & took forever to get warmhot. Lounge could be made attractive with some colour, very bland room, not a joy to sit in. Conservatory would benefit from blinds.
We had an amazing stay at this well appointed bungalow which happily went with stunning weather ! The advertising really does not do the property justice as it really is superb for example we had a dvd player and laundry room washing machine etc plus a third toilet off the kitchen which weren't even listed. The property had everything we needed right down to fresh milk and eggs which were left for us on arrival. The views from the conservatory are truly astounding and the proprietor was more than happy to tell us about local events and where we could walk and so we enjoyed following the salmon filled river over the fields to the local village on a truly magnificent 2 mile ish walk. Very happy and would return here again !
Judith
Lovely property. Well equiped. Clean. Fantastic location with great views. Perfect for exploring North Wales.
Fabulous stay. Very comfortable accommodation in a delightful part of Wales. The views are spectacular with amazing views. We know this area quite well but have never actually stayed here before. The village is very pretty with picnic tables by the river. We had a really nice meal in the Black Lion and a delicious breakfast in Olivia's cafe, both well recommended. Will stay here again in a heartbeat.
This was our 3rd visit to Cwm Heulog& sure it won't be our last. Great location for the many delights of N Wales. The bungalow itself is very spacious, clean, warm& well equipped with gorgeous views over the valley, with added advantage of only being a 10minute drive to the coast. Owners live just a little further along the drive & are helpful but unobtrusive. Gill & Mike. March 24
Smashing bungalow in a great location. Would definitely recommend
Very easy to find and some beautiful eggs waiting for us as well as some milk in the fridge. Beds very comfortable. Had to do a bit of sprucing up when we arrived, but apart from that, we had a really good stay. This holiday home is very central for many great places to visit. Wonderful log fire and huge tv which was fab.
This is the second time weve stayed at this property for our Christmas shopping weekend. Perfect location being close to A55 and a nice drive to Chester and Cheshire Oaks and then spending a lovely day in Llandudno. Property is spacious, clean cosy with the log burners. Also provides everything we need for a perfect break.
Tricia
This was our 4th stay at our ' Winter Retreat ' and was as good as ever. Fab property with everything you need in a fab location with stunning views.
On returning home i have just booked our 4th stay in the cottage for next year. It is absolutely lovely. Quite location, spacious, well equipped, clean, stunning views and lovely owners who are there if needed but not in your face which is a great bonus. My one tiny complaint is the small double beds, although comfortable king size would be perfect in my view
Cinnamon
An exceptionally spacious property like a Tardis inside! Large comfortable bedrooms, spacious kitchendining area and we loved sitting in the conservatory playing cards and enjoying the beautiful view. Enjoyed an evening meal at The Black Lion in the village. Would definitely stay here again.
Really clean and well maintained. Spacious rooms beds comfortable. Well equipped kitchen . Owners very friendly and helpful Decor little dated and a few pictures or mirrors may make it a bit more homely ,otherwise a great place to stay and highly recommend.
This was one of the most stunning locations we have ever stayed in. The bungalow is very spacious is ideal for families and couples alike. Everything we needed was provided including some lovely fresh eggs . Our only suggestion would be to make the directions a little clearer however once found its easy.
Jennifer
It is not mentioned on the site that there is a freezer, that would have been helpful. Whilst there was a dvd player, there didn't seem to be any dvds...we have stayed at other cottages and there has been a small selection of dvds which is helpful. WiFi was good. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. The cottage is well placed for exploring North Wales. The location is lovely and quiet on a farm. There wasn't a lot of information on staying at the cottage, for instance details on recycling, or how to use cooker...we did figure these things out but some written information on the basics would help. The double bedrooms could use a vanity mirror, I'm quite petite and I couldn't see in the bathroom mirrors as they were small and quite high up, a mirror would be useful for drying hair etc. The cottage is very spacious and with lovely views. We did enjoy our stay and would return if we wanted to visit this area again.
Lovely property with amazing views. Great for family holiday, the kids loved watching the tractors going along the lane. Rooms are spacious so plenty of room. Its about 20 min drive from the coast but the village down the road has a nice pub and river for picnics.
I have just returned with my family from Cwm Heulog after spending a really enjoyable relaxing holiday. The bungalow was spacious and excellent for the gran children to run around. The conservatory was loverly to sit in with a coffee and take in the incredible views of the field and hills. Megan and her family were really friendly and helpful, showing the children the farm and animals and explaining how they farmed. The location was great for Snowdonia and the beaches of Colwyn bay an Llandudno. Would certainly look to go back again.
Richard
Comfortable and spacious cottage with excellent views. Good base for exploring Snowdonia and the North Wales coast.
Lovely property in a lovely location, which was ideally positioned close to so many places of interest that were only 30 40 minutes away. Brilliant stay, will definitely be booking there again.
Angela
Lovely quiet relaxing place to stay. Great location, easy for us to plan our day trips out & about Really clean & tidy Thank you
