Bryn Golau Reviews

Great house, in a great locationonly 5 mins from the local and a shop. Views from the house are spectacular. A few things would have made our stay more enjoyable. Bins were full on arrival, including recycling containers. Limited cutlery and kitchen items for a house this size. Limited dishwasher tablets and other essentials, such as toilet roll, one tea towel etc.

Firstly can I say this is the 1st time I have been somewhere that I didnt want to leave! The owner left treats for our arrival which I thank them for. They were also on hand to answer any queries. The house is amazing and being open plan allowed us to be together for the festivities but also having the mezzanine we could sit there to read alone. The heating works perfectly so we were nice and cosy. The view from the house is amazing and our Xmas was just perfect. Just a few bits to improve on, none of the bathroom sinks have mirrors above them, I seen another review from last year that said the same. The 2 windows in the family bathroom are not sealed so are very draughty. This bathroom could have done with a hand towel for drying hands as we used this as our main toilet in the day. But please dont think this is a complaint, just a suggestion. We had the best time.
Property was difficult to find in the dark. No outside lights on and no name of the house displayed. If the description had mentioned large breeze block wall running along length of house might have been easier to find. However the property itself was beautiful with stunning views over the valley. Beautifully decorated for Christmas and with all the facilities. Would recommend and would stay again
Beautiful place to stay, its got everything and more! Highly recommended
Judith
A lovely house, my mom was born in Glyn Ceriog so strong feelings towards it. We had a welcome rest whilst we were there. Only 3 small points to raise. The dishwasher had old food in it when we came to use it, we could not get the heating on in the downstairs bedrooms, and no torch. Having said all that we thoroughly enjoyed going to Chirk Castle and the National Trust park at Wrexham.
A very pleasant and comfortable spacious house. We enjoyed our stay very much, the view from the livingroom was a bonus. The kitchen is well equipped.
Katrina
Our family had a great week staying at Bryn Golau. It's in a lovely setting, very peaceful and pretty. There was plenty to do, the kids enjoyed visiting Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Llangollen. The house was very clean, no dog hairs, and had good facilities. We found the beds very comfy and loved having a coffee outside surrounded by wonderful views. We got an online shop delivered directly there which worked well. And having the pub, shop and play area at the bottom of the hill was a real bonus.

The property is lovely but its missing basic things such as mirrors in the bathrooms and tvs in bedrooms. The lounge area the couch is not comfy and tv is tiny. Also there was no hoover and you can tell pets have stayed there as hairs are on the fabric off the furniture. My eyes were itchy all the time we stayed there. Also when you arrive it feels mouldy as there is no ventilation in the bathroom I.e extractor fans. So we had to open windows etc. my daughter has asthma and she was coughing a lot during the stay.
Joanne
The house was absolutely beautiful, very clean and modern. The weather was amazing which meant we could sit in the garden and listen to the sheep and watch the peacocks trooping through occasionally. The drive way is a little complicated if you have a large car and probably a nightmare in very wet or snowyicy conditions. It would have also been great to have some mirrors in the bathrooms and some sort of dressing table in the main bedroom. Small things really that didnt detract from our wonderful stay. Thanks for having us!
I would like to start by saying thank you for the welcome gifts. The Welsh cakes went down a treat with a nice cup of tea which was much needed after a long journey by car. The property is absolutely lovely very well laid out and we found it extremely comfortable and cosy. The views from the house were amazing & the local family of peacocks were a daily added bonus when they paid us a visit in the Garden. We had a lovely time in this beautiful part of wales and we will definitely be returning.Thank you.
Rebecca
We had a fantastic week at Bryn Golau. My mums family are from Glyn Ceiriog so it was nice to be able to take her back there. The cottage was very nice plenty of room for 4 adults 2 children & a jack russell. Beds were comfortable 4 bathrooms was a bonus. It had everything thing we needed also nice welcome gifts for all. The driveway was a bit tricky but we solved that by reversing into the drive then driving to the top of quarry rd & turning round to come back down. We had 2 lovely meals at the Glyn Valley Hotel would recommend. Lots of lovely walks round the Glyn. Great time had by all.
Rachel
Wonderful. We had a wonderful weekend at this property. 3 good bedrooms with fabulous views, ensuites and comfy beds. Lounge, kitchen and dining room were great and a wonderful space for us to sit and chat. Big windows making the best of the views. Lovely location, a quick walk walk to a shop and pub and walks from the door step. Treats on arrival were a lovely touch. Would highly recommend and would love to return. Thank you.
Gwenda
A lovely house with beautiful views of the Ceiriog Valley. I would recommend this house to others. Welcome treats were lovely. T lyfli gyda golygfeydd bendigedig o Ddyffryn Ceiriog. Buaswn yn argymell i chi aros yma. Roedd y danteithion croeso yn lyfli.
This place is simply beautiful and well equipped. Perfect for a break any time of year. Thank you for making such a beautiful property available to those holidaying with dogs. My only word of caution to those with dogs is that the house next door has fowl and a peacock, and the fence allows access to that property. So youre probably going to want to keep them on a lead in the garden. 1010 would highly recommend.
Thankyou for the welcome gifts and leaving milk. The cottage is amazing we loved the views from the sitting room. It is spotlessly clean and its a treat to have a bathroom each. Its a house where it is very easy to relax as there is a feeling of space plus its very quiet. Everything you need is provided apart from we couldnt find eggcups. The area is very beautiful and wonderful for walking Good meals and friendly staff at the Corn Mill and The Bridge Inn both in Llangollen . Hope to stay in Bryn Golau again.
Beautiful and very spacious. All the rooms being ensuite made everyone happy. Lovely Christmas decorations. The area around seemed beautiful, and we will come back with better weather. We had everything we needed on arrival and even a couple of welcome gifts. Thank you.
Fantastic property with amazing views. Bryn Golau really has the WOW factor. Thank you for the treats too, to enjoy in the evening.
A stunning house in a beautiful location. Amazing views. Everything was perfect for a wonderful relaxing break. We will definitely return. Thank you.
Beautiful cottage inside and out. Outstanding views, everything you need is here. Home from home. So peaceful and relaxing. Not too far from main attractions. The only sound you hear is birds singing. We had Beautiful weather. Comfy beds, ensuits for all bedrooms. There was a separate utility room. Would recommend to friends and family.
What a fantastic house with lovely views in a stunning valley, however the driveway is a bit tricky to negotiate. Near to Chirk and Llangollen and it's local attractions don't recommend the back road though Some lovely pubs nearby. It was great that we could take our 2 dogs. We would highly recommend Bryn Golau
We stayed for 3 nights and came away wishing it was longer. The house is beautiful and really comfortable and relaxing inside. The windows in the lounge make it even more special, I could have happily stayed in that one room the whole time. The kitchen has everything you need and was clean and tidy. The one tiny thing I noticed when we first arrived was that the kitchen did smell of dog. I'm not a dog owner so I probably notice it more and I know the property welcomes dogs so I wasn't surprised. But after the first day the smell was gone. I wondered if it might be worth getting a plug in air freshener just to use between stays to help clear out the smell? But really it didn't spoil anything, it was just the only thing I noticed that I could criticise! The area itself it pretty of course, amazing view from the lounge and we went walking around the village a couple of times. The shop at the bottom of the road is really convenient and less than 2 mins walk. The pub was really nice inside but we didn't eat there as they couldn't fit us in so we went to the swan inn down the road and had a really good meal there. We loved staying here and we're already looking at when we can book to come back for longer.
Claire
The house is stunning. Spacious rooms & the view is lovely. Well equipped. The photos dont do it justice. Will definitely book again.
Eleanor
Fantastic house, spotless, everything you need for a fantastic holiday and the views wow! !
Bryn Golau is a stunning property in a beautiful part of North Wales. The specifications don't do it justice with 3 ample double ensuite bedrooms plus another large family bathroom. The owner was super responsive to tackle a minor issue same day and a nice bloke too. The property had everything we could want and located within easy drive of lots of amenities in Chirk & Llangollen. Would love to visit again at different parts of the year to appreciate it's great location.
Srinath
Would expect to have the house vaccumed as its pet friendly. So that way we dont have any pet hairs attached to our clothes on couches beds and washrooms. The ambience is fabulous but definetly need vaccume before any stay. Also would be nice to have shower gels placed in bathroom.
Lovely house with the potential to be outstanding. A few basics missing such as mirrors in all bathrooms, velux window blind required in upstairs bedroom, more kitchen equipment, left hand oven trips the sockets in the kitchen, ground floor toilet blocked, no extraction working in bathrooms, towel rail in upstairs bathroom not working. Cleanliness was average, oven and grill need a good clean as did all the doors in the kitchen now clean shower upstairs has mouldy silicone, stain on mattress protector.. This review is fully intended as constructive feedback to help improve the house for future guest.
Libbey
Such a lovely house, it had everything we needed for our stay and more! We will definitely be back, thank you so much!
Stephen
We stayed at the property for a week whilst working away it was like a home away from home. Stunning property with beautiful views! I would 100 stay again
