Windyridge Reviews

Absolutely lovely place, nice clean set up in a beautiful area would highly recommend this place.
Suzanne
We spent my husband's 50th at the cottage. We had the most amazing time, the cottage had everything we needed. It was clean, enough space for all and the location was perfect. Check in was easy and the directions to find it was spot on. The views are fabulous and I would recommend staying here for a quiet spot with everything not far. We celebrated in the Eagle and Child a short walk away which was fabulous. Communication from the host was great. We would definitely come backe had no issues at all. Thank you so much, we also enjoyed the wine xx
Lovely quirky cottage full of character with delightful garden. Would agree with 2 previous reviews that maybe a deep clean during the winter would help the obvious areas that need and extra clean, backs of wooden doors, dust and cobwebs above curtain rails and a garden tidy up We took age and character of the cottage into consideration and agreed that it would not deter us from booking again. More info on recycling would help as not sure which bins to put out and 3 were full on arrival so we put them all out and 3 different companies came and empied them. Also mirror would be helpful to reverse out on to road.

We had a fantastic weekend stay at this cottage in Prestatyn and, overall, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The house itself is absolutely amazing, full of character, and provided the perfect setting for a great family getaway. There are, however, a few areas where we feel improvements could be made. The general cleanliness wasnt quite up to the standard we expected. There was noticeable dust on top of picture frames and the fourposter bed, and some of the kitchen pots and utensils needed washing before use. We also found ourselves wiping down some of the kitchen surfaces and were glad wed brought our own cleaning supplies. Outside, there was a significant amount of duck droppings around the property which appeared to have been there for some time and would benefit from a thorough clean or jet wash. The outdoor furniture was still packed away when we arrived, which meant we werent able to make use of the outdoor space as much as we would have liked. The windows and exterior areas generally could do with a refresh to help the property look its best for arriving guests. One additional suggestion concerns the exit from the car park. Visibility when pulling out onto the road is quite limited due to the bend, and a roadside mirror positioned on the nearby tree or opposite side could greatly improve safety for both guests and passing traffic. Despite these points, none of the issues spoiled our stay. We had a wonderful weekend, made some great memories, and would still recommend the property. With a little more attention to cleanliness and maintenance, it could be truly exceptional. If you require any photos to back up my review please do not hesitate to contact me. If it was my property I would like to know. Beautiful property with smashing views
We had a great time at Windyridge. We were two families with four young teenagers between us. The kitchen was a great place for everyone to be together in the evenings around the big table and there was plenty of space to cook when it was full of people. The glass walldoor overlooking the garden is really appealing because it maximises the views and makes you feel like you're still by the firepit even when it's just decided to rain! Peaceful location, but Prestatyn is only 10 minutes in the car. We also had an ASDA delivery and takeaway without a problem although make sure you put plenty of details on the location to help the driver. Comfy beds, good showers, enough storage. We would definitely recommend.

Had a really lovely stay here. Views were stunning and the house was amazing! Gorgeous beds and bedding! Bathrooms were lovely! Could have stayed another week! The pub down the road was really good as well! But make sure you book as it was really busy! Prestatyn beach was lovely as well! Really gorgeous holiday. Thank you!
Sandra
Lovely few days spent with family at this lovely property. Owners were very helpful. We all enjoyed ourselves.
Had trouble finding the cottage following the directions given by Sykes upon arrival though we were impressed by the cottage it's lovely but it wasn't the cleanest not sure if it was because it was a last minute booking and they hadn't managed to clean it prior ,found stains on some of the bedding ,rubbish from previous occupants piling up outside but owner got some of it removed quickly , some of the crockery had chips in it also , plus side the views are stunning where you can watch a fantastic sunset . Didn't go to the pub in the village as we were told it wasn't dog friendly but could sit outside in the smokers hut if we wanted but that's no reflection on the cottage
We stayed at Windy Ridge for three nights over New Year and had a lovely break. The house is cosy with very comfortable beds and plenty of space, making it great for families. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches like the New Years Eve decorations and the Christmas dcor, which made it feel extra cosy. The views are beautiful, and wed love to return in the summer to enjoy the outdoor space and firepit. The master bedroom with en suite is stunning, and the owners have done an amazing job renovating the property to a very high standard while keeping its original charm. We would definitely return and 100 recommend.

Loved this little stay over Christmas with some of the family beautiful views pub down the road was great too all enjoyed the stay .
Myself and my friends had a fantastic stay at the house. The owners have done a fantastic job on the property . Would highly recommend and would return.
We had a wonderful stay at Windyridge Cottage for my sons 30th birthday family celebration. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner, they were very responsive to all our queries before our stay. Cottage is wonderful, very clean, spacious and perfect blend of modern and traditional. All rooms decorated to a high standard. Wonderful views overlooking the duck pond, it was very relaxing just sitting with a book, looking out and enjoying the view. Very cosy log fire in living room, the cottage is very well equipped and had absolutely everything we needed for a perfect stay. Walking distance to local pub and lots of lovely walks on the doorstep. Can't recommend this cottage enough for a peaceful and relaxing break, we will definitely be back!
