Y Caban, Pontfadog

I stayed at y Caban with my partner and her parents. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for, something cosy and remote. The cabin is well equipped on the heat front, with a great log fire and space heaters on top of very modern central heating! We were warm the whole time despite the 4 outside. Would recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away from it all for a while and enjoy a comfortable stay in this cabin next to plenty of curious sheep.

Y Cabin is in a beautiful setting in the countryside and the cabin is very roomy and cosy and has lots of character. The discription and photos of the cabin are very accurate. The only thing that would put me off another visit is the single track roads in this part of Wales. At times, we struggled to pass tractors and other oncoming farm vehicles and I would say, just generally, driving around this part of the country is not for the faint hearted! Having said that I was driving a Fiat 500 which was probably not the most suitable vehicle. If you are considering a stay here I would bare that in mind but I would not let it put you off because the views are stunning and nearby Llangollen and other surrounding towns are worth the visit. Chirk castle is very close to the accommodation and we had a fantastic day out here and there was plenty so see.

Had a fantastic time at the Caban. The honests were super helpful and friendly. The Caban is in a beautiful location with stunning views. Inside is rustic and cosy and well maintained. I would definitely return. If you're are looking for swanky and modern, this isn't for you. But if you're after cosy nights by a log burner and connecting back to nature, it's the place to go.

On first arriving was a disappointing start as we were informed that the outside lights were not working. Not helpful when check in is after 4 and youd daughter has mobility issues, this issue was not addressed for the duration of our stay despite raising the issue again with all the rest of the problems. The cabin looked nice enough but things soon started to go wrong. The freezer wasnt turned on for our arrival, which meant that some of our food defrosted and had to be thrown away, the main doors bolt for the stable door was held in with tissue so that instantly fell out, the fridge door wont stay closed, we went out for the day and returned to it open resulting in more wasted food, the pots and pans had not been cleaned properly after the previous guests and were unusable as they were disgusting, this was rectified by the owner but sadly the pots were from b&m and the coating came off the bottom and mixed into our food. The cooker was faulty and again we informed the owner who came out tried to light the problem ring and said oh weve had problems with this before but it was left not fully working. We were offered 50 as compensation for not being able to cook Christmas dinner in the cabin Everything was dirty old and tired, there was clothes still in the wardrobes and drawers when we arrived, old food left in the kitchen cupboards and lots of items and dust under the bed. All in all the location is wonderful and with some tlc the cabin could be amazing but given all the issues we left early feeling ripped off and very disappointed

Had a fantastic weekend . Everything was as stated. Very rural location which suited. Very comfortable bedrooms. Would definitely return

Amazing location for views and the peace & quiet. Such helpful hosts who could not do enough to ensure our stay was great.

Enjoyable time in the cabin. Views exceptional. Very peaceful. Very dog friendly. Plenty of walks nearby.

Games room wasn't described as fully confined. Birds were getting in and messing on the furniture and pool table so we could not use. You could see into the bathroom through the door and through the first bedroom. For what we paid we thought it was vety overpriced. However the surrounding area was lovely.

Feel totally mislead about the write up for this property no mention of a 18 bed house 10 yards away when we arrived music blasting out 1 cars parked in or spot couldn't get in then got knocked up early in morning asked to move my car 18 young men staying there cars in and out all hrs of the day and night banging car doors all night then they left on Sunday night about 20 men turn up music blasting out of cars banging alright again no sleep car in and out all day Monday again be this time me and my wife have had enough packed up and left property Tuesday morning if you look at cabin no mention of another property they've even put different address down for both property's trying to hide the fact there are 2 there no pictures or anything showing 2 houses fell totally mislead 550 pounds for 3 nights this was not at all what I booked like u say no mention to me about house right on top of you with 18 young men there you can imagine to noise feel totally ripped off cabin lovely but I would never have booked this if I was informed properly to be honest I do think we are due some kind of refund for being mislead not quite at all very noisy no pace what so ever luck forward to hearing from you on these matters and what refund you think should be made as I say these are totally misleading adverts if you need anything else please contact me

A lovely property with a homely feel and finishing touch with the log burner. Great facilities and stunning setting. Close to local attractions and a lovely pub in the neighbouring village. Wouldve liked an inventory in advance to see what we needed to bring but it had most essentials. Mattresses are on the thin side but cant fault it otherwise, beautifully presented for arrival. Highly recommend and would stay again.

What a wonderful place to stay, surrounded by nature, farm animals. Lovely cabin with everything you might need. A bit of a trek to the nearest town but thats exactly what we wanted. Brilliant Brilliant stay .

Lovely remote setting. No noise, light pollution or distractions except nature itself.

We stayed here NYE and NYD and it was unreal! The place is bigger than it looks in the photos, very warm so don't worry in winter, and despite being slightly worried because of an earlier review... NO SPIDERS

We had an amazing stay, the fact Y Cabin is rustic meant we were all totally relaxed. The games room and garden just added to our overall enjoyment. It really was the perfect place for our family to all be together this Christmas.

Lovely, cosy cottage. Very comfy. Games room absolutely fantastic for playing with the 2 dogs when it got too cold outside. Great log fire in main living area. Very rural.

A great break in a clean, comfortable and character cottagecabin. Perfect for us and our dogs. The outside photo doesnt really do the inside justice. We will be going back to stay and would recommend.

The cabin was well equipped with all you would need. The GAMES room which had a darts board was dirty and absolutely full of cobwebs . Holes in the wood were so bad a gale Forse wind was blowing through. The bedroom with French doors was infested with giant spiders.we were booked until Friday but left on Wednesday.
