Pen Bryn Reviews

Carrie
We had a lovely relaxing stay. Beautiful views and fantastic lodge.
Lezley
Absolutely beautiful lodge and the location is amazing. If you want a peaceful, quiet, relaxing, and out of the way break, this is most definitely the place to be. Taking in the views across the valley whilst relaxing in the hot tub is a must
Wonderful property, beautiful views, very isolated which is no bad thing, each to their own.
Beautiful lodge, in a stunning location with everything we needed.
Really enjoyed the stay, Huw is a perfect host when showing you around on arrival, if peace a quiet is what you are after along with lovely views this is the place, the walk to the pub took us about 15 mins, where food is available along with a beer or two we enjoyed the pool table. We shall return next year if Pen Bryn is available.
Stunning holiday lodge with absolute quality throughout. The standard of the fixtures and fittings is top class. Well equipped, everything you need is at hand and it seems no expense has been spared. Fabulous location, very peaceful and the extensive views from the front terrace are a joy. Sitting on a sunny evening with the bifold doors open was a tremendous feeling with only the sound of birdsong to be heard. Everything about the situation of the lodge has been extremely well thought out and the hot tub is an amazing bonus. Although the lodge itself is in a remote location you are only a ten minute drive from the beautiful market town of Ruthin which has all the amenities you need. Also the fantastic countryside and attractions of North Wales are only a fairly short drive away and ther really is plenty for everyone. Overall a fantastic place for a holiday and a genuine 5 star experience !
Such an incredible place. Highly recommend to anyone that wants a peaceful beautiful getaway
Great communication with owners. Beautiful lodge with the most amazing views. They really have thought of everything.
Richard
Excellent property. Spotlessly clean, done to a high standard. Even though the location is on farm land we still loved it. Nice views. Will likely stop again in the future. The experience of using Sykes, cottages has also been very good. The website is easy to use, and communication has been great. Will use again.
Beautiful lodge with the most amazing views. This is the perfect place to get away from it all & we cannot wait to return!
An amazing stay for our family. Just perfect! So relaxing and you have everything you need at this lodge. A highchair, travel cot provided and even plastic plates and cutlery for the little ones In the most beautiful location with some lovely walking routes. So peaceful which made for the most relaxing stay. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing break. We will definitely be back. Thank you
We have recently stayed here for 4nights. Its is a beautiful cabin. I have stayed in many log cabins over the years and this is by far the best and most well equipped cabin I have stayed in. The cabin was beautiful inside and decorated lovely with little homely touches. The kitchen was well equipped everything you need if you are cooking. The views from the cabin are beautiful as well as the hot tub. I will definately be staying here again at some point. We were met my huw on arrival and nothing was too much trouble. They also sent a really good guide to you before you arrive with everything you need including shops pubs places to go etc. it has been an amazing experience staying here and i look forward to going back at some point
This beautiful property was so comfortable, with wonderful views from the huge windows. So peaceful. Everything we needed was there. Huw the host was very helpful and friendly on arrival. No negatives at all.
Caroline
Lovely lodge, spotlessly clean and hot tub with a view! In quiet surroundings but plenty to do in the area. Huw and Mari were very helpful and responsive to any questions. We had a great time. Already planning a return trip.
Pen Bryn is a lovely property and, has been decorated to a high standard. The only negatives are that, there are essentials missing which, could be added to the property ie chest of drawers in the bedrooms and, a washing line. There is also no window in the main bedroom which, should be noted. It was very stuffy in the room at night. The directions to the property were not easy to follow and, the roads surrounding the property are not easy to navigate! There are lots of positives to the cottage, its in a very quiet location with, amazing views. Its spacious and comfortable and, the hot tub is a great feature. Huw gave us a lovely welcome and, left us some gifts which, were much appreciated.
It was beautiful accommodation and was very beautiful and peaceful area. If Im going back to wales I would return to this accommodation. Loved the view from the hot tub.
Excellent property. Had everything you needed for your stay. The property was dressed stylishly was lovely and clean and fresh. The weather was cold and the underfloor heating was amazing. The hosts had left a bottle of Cava and food treats a nice touch. We would definitely recommend and revisit ourselves.
Absolutely beautiful lodge with everything you need to enjoy your holiday! !! Very comfortable and easy to enjoy with friends with having two separate bathrooms. Beautiful countryside with lots of stunning places round and about to visit.

Samantha
Huw was very helpful, friendly and welcoming. The house has been beautifully designed to take full advantage of the views, with a comfy modern settee area and dinning table looking out across the fields. It wasn't quite warm enough to sit out on the terrace but we enjoyed the hot tub, again privately positioned with great views looking into the valley. It is perfect for 2 couples, feeling spacious and light and thoughtfully decorated and furnished. Well equipped kitchen, nice clean modern bathrooms & underfloor heating. Would recommend it highly.
Loved our stay at Pen Bryn! ! Huw, the owner met us on arrival and explained everything, the owners live on the farm next door but were not intrusive at all. The lodge is very private and secluded which is just how we like it! Hot tub was lovely and so relaxing! The lodge is well equipped and the welcome pack was much appreciated. We made good friends with John Huws dad and he waved and stopped to chat if he saw us, we will definitely book again!
Great property. Warm and cosy with views across the valley. Enjoyed using the hot tub and wood burner. Property owner, Huw, very friendly and contacted us beforehand with links to lots of information. A good base to explore North Wales
WHAT A FIND! Usually go to lodge parks and had given up hope of finding anything decent as they were full or extortionately priced and then I stumbled upon Pen Bryn! Beautiful location, stunning holiday let, super clean and well appointed everything we needed was provided more than used to! Family were very friendly and enjoyed our chats with dad too! It is remote which we loved and even though Feb we got decent weather and used the hot tub loads! AMAZING thank you
Brendon
Absolutely amazing accommodation, location and scenic views, we had a lovely time here! The hosts were also very accommodating, I can't recommend this place enough. Five stars from us
Robert
We liked it ALL! First the basics Cleanliness, comfort and warmth, all scored very high marks, loved the hot tub, the view, and the peace and quiet allowing us a very restful break.
Gerrard
Wonderful place to stay and extremely helpful owners.
Claire
Everything about this place was beautiful, Highly recommend
Fabulous property, quite remote just what we wanted. Host's very accommodating. Perfect holiday for us, could not have wished for more.
We recieved a warm welcome and the property was as beautiful as the pictures indicate. The property was very clean it really was a home from home.
The local roads seemed dreadful after Ruthin, but boy was it worth the effort. The cottage has a fantastic outlook, and after a couple of days we were driving like the locals, well most of them Being fairly new, everything in the cottage was fresh, Hew made sure we knew where everything was and we felt quite a home very quickly. The fantastic weather at the beginning of September obviously helped and we very much enjoyed the company of puss and her two kittens. We'd go back tomorrow if we could.
Andrea
The property was perfect and location great to get to many places. The tourist leaflets were helpful and we added to them following our travels around. An information folder would have been useful however which included local walks, amenities and restaurants. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful and we couldn't have wished for a nicer holiday in Wales for our first visit. Thank you!
Well what can I say! We had the most amazing stay at this stunning lodge! The lodge itself is absolutely immaculate. Equipped with everything you would need. The hot tub is fantastic. You can tell it isnt just a cheap one. You wake up to such a peaceful setting with beautiful views. Million miles away our busy day to day lives. We were 4 girls turning 40 and we couldnt have asked for a better place to stay. We didnt want a busy city centre and this was everything we needed. Ruthin its self is so nice. Can 100 recommend small plates. The food was beautiful. Ruthin castle is another must. We went for a couple of drinks on the Saturday afternoon and the setting was just perfect. Peacocks roaming around and the grounds were stunning! The Wetherspoons in the town centre is great too. Lovely beer garden with cheap drinks too! If you need a taxi would recommend Daveys taxis. The taxi network isnt like what we are used to can we not just ring an Uber
We had a lovely comfortable stay at Pen Bryn, thank you Huw and Mari. The place is very spacious and very well equipped. Views are amazing and lots to do in the area. We would love to return sometime in the future.
This holiday home was just amazing! We booked to take our elderly parents, one of whom has mobility issues and the property was spacious, well laid out, everything on one level. Everything was new and modern. The bifolding doors viewed out onto an absolutely incredibly view where you could see the weather roll in a point of much discussion in Wales! We were speechless at the hottub. So warm, easy to use, extremely clean and with the views of everywhere. The fire was lovely. Kitchen easy to use. Big fridgefreezer. Big utility room for walkers. Lovely host who met us. Oh! I could go on forever!!
Immaculate throughout with very high quality finishes. Hot tub was pristine and well maintained. The host were amazing. The views are incredible. The location is perfect. Really cosy cottage. Underfloor heating everywhere. Log burner. Nice gifts on arrival. Great value for money. Highly recommended.
Allison
Beautiful modern lodge set in the most stunning countryside location. We had the pleasure of staying here for the weekend with our family and we had the best time. Hot tub is amazing! Thank you to Huw and Mari for a warm welcome and always being around to help.
