We arrived at the cottage just after 4pm which is when you are allowed to enter and the owners met us as we got out of the car which I find is always a good sign There was a lovely welcome pack of milk, bread, eggs most were double yolk eggs from a relatives farm, coffee, Welsh cakes, crisps and homemade lemon drizzle cake which was delicious! I have to say the village bakery bread was superb, we bought some lime curd with us and what a great combination it was. It is a spacious cottage and very comfortable it is for 5 and there is only the 2 of us but the table seats eight!. The log fire was set for us but whilst it was coolish outside we were very comfortable without it and only used it once during the week. We often hire 2 person cottages so this huge cottage was a real delight for us, Overall a stunning cottage and one that any aspiring host would do well to experience explore for best practise ideas. The tap water is excellent as mentioned in the cottage details, we have to filter ours at home. We both come from farming background and it was great to be close to the fields and country side We had our first ever holiday in the area some 47 years ago as teenagers and it was great to see how much the area had changed. So much to see and do although I love cooking so we were torn between eating in and going out. By chance we had passed Rosies cider on the way so had an added incentive to stay in and enjoy a chilled pint or two from the 5 ltr bag in box!! I much prefer the flat cider compared to the carbonated bottled variety. The forecast for the week wasnt brilliant after the fantastic summer we have just had but on the first morning we woke to beautiful sunshine and clear blue skies which set us up for the week.

Y Stabl is a wonderful cottage. It has everything you need. It is well thought through with all the kitchen appliances and utensils you need. Guto and Catrin have furnished it beautifully and is immaculately clean. We were met by them both and they took us through things. The welcoming couldnt have been any warmer and the hamper of goodies and fresh flowers were so much appreciated. Y Stabl, although remote perfect, is in a fantastic location to see beautiful north wales and various tourist sights all within reasonable travel times. We will be back.

Excellent accommodation spacious, well appointed and very clean. Owners very welcoming, cheerful and helpful. They went above and beyond in helping me to get my computer fixed. Only draw back to our minds was location. It is a long way from places of interest, except lake Brenig.

We had a brilliant say at Y Stabl. The owners, Catrin and Guto, are extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. The property itself is just beautiful, lovely big but warm rooms, hot and powerful showers and a really comfy bed. The setting is wonderful and you are centrally located to explore Wales and the borders from all directions. We would love to return and highly recommend!

We had a brilliant week staying at Y Stabl. The owners Catrin and Guto could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The cottage has been done to the highest standard and they have thought of everything to make it feel like a home from home. It is such a peaceful spot where you can really feel like you are getting away from busy life but very accessible to the Snowdonia and everything North Wales has to offer. Would definitely book again.

Family Friendly Cottage. Just back from a lovely stay in Y Stabl it and it met all our expectations and more. The decor is very modern with beautifully exposed aged beams from the original building in every room. Its very spacious and there was plenty of room for my toddler to run around without me having to worry. Stair gates were provided, and owners were on hand to help with anything we needed. Kitchen was very well equipped so theres no need to bring anything. My little boy particularly enjoyed seeing the cows and sheep outside Y Stabl on the working farm. The night sky is fantastic with very little light pollution.
