Bryn Awel, Peniel

A great house. Very spacious rooms, hot tub was fab, cinema room was great with huge screen. Pool table was a bit scuffed but didn't stop us playing. Small fenced garden at the front and patio area at the back. No grasses garden at the back as such. Didn't matter to us as we were a group of adults, but not a lot of back garden space if you have children. Bread, milk, sweet treats and a few other touches on arrival which were nice and appreciated. Large spacious kitchen with dining room just off it, which had a large dining table. Really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.

We had a wonderful family holiday in a beautiful part of Wales. The cottage had exceptional facilities for all the family with a games room, cinema room and WiFi, although a bit spasmodic at times. The bedding and beds and bathroom facilities were very clean to a high standard. Our only negative was the overall cleanliness of the kitchen and tiredness of the house. One sink was blocked as the owners said they were away i myself unblocked it using drain unblocker and unfortunately had to take off the pipes under the sink in order to clean it and make it usable....We did go end of season, but a deep clean and tidying up of the surroundings lots of broken furniture and rusty unclean BBQ would be of benefit for the safety of youngsters and overall appeal and experience for all. One side of the oven didn't work properly either.

A party of 11 adults and in the midst of storm Amy however we could not have asked for more from the property owners. We had no electricity on the first night therefore no heating amongst everything else. Jane and Nigel travelled up to us with logs etc.. for the fire, they kept in constant contact and always asking if we needed anything. As for the house, its is a fantastic property with lots of room. The cinema room was a massive hit as was the games room, just a pity we couldnt use it in the first night. There are a few tired spots in the house but these were very minor and didnt impact our stay. We will definitely return.

Great experience the house is amazing has everything you need. Went for my 50th with my girls . Would highly recommend and we will be back , Nigel the owner kept in touch with useful information and was very helpful.

Firstly, I'd like to say that we had a lovely time at Bryn Awel. We were a family of 15, parents, children and grandchildren of varying ages. The bedrooms were all very comfortable, nice and clean and plenty of space. The master suite is enormous and has a veranda although we could not find the key. We eventually found out that there are repairs being made so the key had been removed it would have been helpful to have been told this on arrival to save us searching for the key and it was a little disappointing. The only thing I would say about the master suite I have about the bedrooms is that although the master suite is great, it is directly above the games room and you can hear every sound from below. Not a problem unless you have young children in there that want to sleep early. The living area is lovely, 2 big sitting rooms, a dining room and huge kitchen. The TV remotes were a bit hit and miss and we realised eventually that the batteries in all of them were nearly done. It was a bit frustrating but one of those things. The kitchen has loads of crockery and cutlery but some of the utensils have seen better days and could be replaced. The kitchen floor wasn't very clean when we arrived but there was plenty of cleaning product so we sorted it ourselves. The games room is great, the pool cues have all seen better days but did the job and much fun was had. The cinema room is amazing and all of the group enjoyed watching movies and sports. The hot tub is great but we were a little concerned that noone came to check the chemical levels whilst we were there we are used to regular checks and chemical top ups The water did get rather grotty towards the end of our stay but we showered after each use so no harm done. My biggest criticism of the property is the outside space. The pictures of the property on the listing do not reflect the reality. The BBQ on the pictures is a big gas BBQ with a canopy where in fact there is an old charcoal BBQ and the canopy no longer exists. The big sofa that is on the picture is broken and dumped down the side of the house along with the broken gas BBQ. It is unsightly and not very safe especially with young children running around. The wooden boat in the front garden was very wobbly and surrounded by nettles, not great for little ones who were desperate to play on it. I have given feedback to the owner and I am assured that he will take my feedback on board. Despite the issues listed, we had a great time. The property is a fantastic space and just needs a bit of tlc to bring it back up to a high standard.

The property was perfect for our family holiday. It was a birthday celebration and we had family both older and young. Enough room for everyone. The Hot Tub and Cinema room were perfect and fully used by all the family. The large dining room meant we could all be together at meal times and the extra large lounge with plenty of seating was just great. We played games, had a quiz, watched the TV and went out for the day too. our youngest was only 6 years and the oldest was 70 and the weekend was enjoyed by everyone. Would recommend.

The property was a lovely home, plenty of room in a rural and quiet area with stunning views, great for big families, could do with some maintenance and updating in some areas,but as a big family,we all enjoyed and loved every moment of our stay.

Bryn Awel is a stunning property in an amazing location with highend facilities. There was more than enough space for our family of 10 adults and 8 young children to spend time together, but also room for us to chill in our own spaces when we needed to. We loved the outside spaces, especially the hottub and the pirate ship. The cinema room was a huge success with the grandchildren who used it as a theatre to rehearse and perform their own shows! The owners were very helpful. They communicated well and were quick to respond to any issues raised. They have provided so many thoughtful extras outdoor play equipment, indoor games, Sky package,dvds, tourist information etc and the welcome treats were a lovely surprise! We all had a brilliant week and didn't want to leave!

We received a phone call on the morning ot our let to say if we wanted to check in early we could! When we arrived at the house directions provided brilliant we were blown away!!! Never have we stayed anywhere so amazing! We felt at home immediately everything was as expected and more. The views from the house were breathtaking and so peaceful. It was well equipped with anything you could imagine you would need. I would without hesitation recommend this property to anyone!!! Thank you Nige and Jane for helping us make beautiful memories.

We really enjoyed our stay at Bryn Awel. The property was very clean and the facilities were great, the kids particularly loved the games and cinema rooms and the hot tub. The only thing missing was a coffee potmachine but would have no hesitation recommending this property, it's fantastic.

Had a wonderful time for my 60th birthday. The spacious house was great to enable me to celebrate with my children and grandchildren. The cinema room and games room went down a treat with young and old and the hot tub was fabulous. We even had our own winter wonderland before we left! Would definitely recommend for family get togethers, hoping to get a trip in the Summer next time.

My 11 friends and I absolutely loved the place. We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The facilities were amazing and the kitchen was perfect for a large group of people or any families that want a holiday. The house is perfectly located with a quick 10 minute drive to Denbigh for any supplies, food, or exploring. The only things that I could possibly mention that were negative and they're incredibly minor are that the photos on the listing are older, which meant that some items in the house aren't there anymore or some extra additions are there now. The other thing was that the InternetWiFi was a tad slow in the house. Again, this is incredibly minor for families who want to get away from everything for a vacation. However, due to my visit having friends from all over Europe wanting to contact their families, browse for things to do, organize flights back and travel, it made it slightly awkward for them. The two negatives I listed are very very minor, definitely not something that would make me, and the others, not want to visit again. The owners were wonderful, helpful and accommodating. Definitely a very massive thank you to both of them!

Our experience was fantastic from start to finish, the children absolutely loved the whole place there was plenty for them to do so they were never bored. This was a weekend to make special memories for our family and this place provided it. Hosts were very accommodating I would recommend to everyone of any age.

We stayed for a week in August with our family , 6 adults , 4 children and a toddler. Bryn Awel is a lovely house , its seven bedrooms provided great accommodation especially the fabulous master suite although the outside decking could do with some attention as its looking tired. The downstairs bedroom lacked a dressing table and full length mirror which would have been useful. Plenty of downstairs space for all the family, cinema room and games room particularly popular and we watched a film as a family which was great. Outside plenty of seating, hot tub and bbq , although when we booked it was a gas bbq but although the photos still show this it is now a charcoal bbq which we didnt use as the weather was not favourable. One point is there are now no awnings or any parasols so on a warm day it would be quite hot as no shelter from the sun. This would have been an issue for us with small children. To get to the house you drive for about half a mile down a narrow track with overgrown verges which brushed against your car , middle of the week these were all strimmed and it was much better. Car does have scratches from these though but they should hopefully polish out. The worst challenge for us was getting up the drive due to the amount of stones that have accumulated at the bottom of the drive and it is on an incline , there was a lot of wheel spinning on our first attempt. If you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle as our daughter has it was a lot better . We were then advised that you need to approach it at speed and although that got us up the drive the noise it makes was very off putting. Unfortunately for this reason we would not return but it is a great property once you are in it .

Great place, fab host and great facilities. We spent 2 days there with 8 adults and 8 kids and had a lovely time .plenty of space, hot tub and cinema a highlight and a great kitchen.

Our stay was perfect, the house was large enough for our group of 12 people. the facilities are excellent, from the jacuzzi to the games room and the cinema room. Plenty of things to do round about. We went crabbing with the children in Conway it was a great day out. Best day ever was Manorafon Farm in Abergeli. Never saw owners because no problems. it was EXCELLENT

We enjoyed our stay despite the storm. The 6 children age 316 enjoyed spending time in the games and cinema rooms and had plenty of space to play hide and seek. The sitting areas were comfortable and spacious. The dining room was perfect for us all to sit together. The views over the fields were lovely and the children loved watching the rabbits in the garden. It was only a half hour drive to visit Rhyl and Prestatyn.

We loved our stay in Bryn Awel. It was a family gathering and the house offers great areas for all the family to be together and interact. The cinema room and games room provided lots of entertainment. All the bedrooms are good sizes and plenty of bathrooms also. We didnt have the best weather but that made the indoor entertainment even more useful. Have already recommended this property to friends. Nigel and Jane were always contactable when needed.

We had a fantastic time at this property, it certainly exceeded expectations and facilities were excellent. A constructive comment would be that inevitably a property of this size requires maintenance and in places that was obvious however it did not detract at all from our experience and would definitely recommend.

We loved staying at this holiday home. We came as a group of four families, and enjoyed every minute. Despite quite cold weather, there was a lot to do, and the nine kids especially enjoyed the games room and cinema room. The hot tub was a hit with us all! Nigel was very accommodating and helpful. Some great memories were made.

We all had a fabulous time, lots to do for all ages. The property was very clean and spacious. The lovely hosts left a wonderful welcome basket. They really can't help you enough and are only on the end of a phone call. What lovely people and house. Thank you so much!

We had a great time and enjoyed the facilities so much especially the cinema. Nigel was so accommodating making sure we settled well in the house for a week. He even suggested some sights to visits. The house was clean and we had a lovely time relaxing and making memories with our friends and family. Highly recommended.

The property was great for our family get awaycelebrations 4 generations. There was lots of space for everyone to enjoy 12. The cinema room was a great hit and the kids enjoyed the games room. As the weather was lovely we all enjoyed the hot tub and patio. The kitchen was well equipped. The only thing that was slightly missing was storage and surface space in some of the bedrooms, but we managed. The property has great views and is easy to find, eventhough down a single track. There was great communication with Jane, even recommending some local places. All the family really enjoyed our stay.

The perfect house for our family. We were all comfortable and had plenty of space. There were 16 of us and its difficult to find suitable places for us to stay. The cinema room was a great hit with the family. There were additional tables and benches that meant we could all sit together in the dining room for meals. Two fold up beds were provided for our two youngest grandchildren which meant we didnt have to use the sofa bed. The local roads and the driveway were a bit challenging for us East Anglians but the views were stunning and worth travelling around for. Plenty to do in the area for children and old fogeys. One little thing would have helped a bit, somewhere to hang our towels in the bedrooms so that they dried a bit a hook or rail maybe and a grab rail by the downstairs shower to help when stepping out. The downstairs shower was great and definitely the favourite! No one wanted to come home testaments of a great holiday.

We had a fabulous time. The property was very clean and well equipped. The children didnt want to come home, in fact I didnt myself. We had some lovely weather which was a bonus but even without the sunshine theres more than enough to keep everyone entertained. Would hire this property again

We had a fabulous stay, so many positives. Something for all of the family, lovely to see the kiddies play area which is not on the site pictures. Great location, single track access is no problem.

A great location for a multigeneration family holiday. Loved the house and all the amenities. The house is set in beautiful countryside and we were lucky enough to have good April weather. The back patio, with the hot tub, was a real sun trap.

What a great property, what a great location. Four generations of our family plus partners loved everything about the property. Plenty of rooms, so we wasnt on top of each other. Cinema room was a hit for everyone, from Frozen for the kids, to football for the oldies, to a family quiz night. Would definitely book again. Communication during the week with owners Nigel & Jade was excellent. One item missing, yes we had the snow, and it was heavy and deep, grit box at top and bottom of the drive would have helped us, but we did get out eventually, and again Nigel and Jade were very understanding and even offered us to stay a further night or 2. Great holiday

Amazing stay at Bryn awel. There was 13 of us and every one of us rated the house & our stay. Loads to do and every room is beautiful. Would definitely recommend! We are all hoping to return next year!

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely house. With a family group of 14 including Grandchildren there was something to occupy all, and with the space in the house we weren't on top of each other and had space to relax. Slight reaction to dog hairs downstairs, but after a good hoover that was soon sorted out. Had an issue with the downstairs shower which was sorted out quickly by the owners with no fuss. The view is lovely and it is so quiet, we would definately go again
